What would teams give up to grab him? 27 years old (just turned) near PPG, and signed for another year at a 4.75M cap hit. Let's assume there is no vax situation so he can play all 82 games. Great two-way game, -1 on a team that as a whole is -230.

Hes a rental at that point so probably a 1st + very good prospect and young roster player.

from LA I would do first+faber/grans+madden as a starting point. Would increase but also would wait and see what other teams offer.

Can we stop this myth about a great two way game please? Bert is slow and constantly loses the guy he's supposed to cover. He works hard but thats not the same as being great at it.

LA seems to be really interested in him and can't really blame them given size issues and getting pushed around. Having some brute force on the top six would be useful. LA def. has the pieces too, just not sure what's fair/what's needed, and the fun part will be watching people disagree on which prospects, but I'm sure there's a deal to be had here and frankly if I were handicapping LA's summer moves I'd argue this is the one they're most after.

LA really in that much of a hurry for another Dustin Brown contract after next season?

Did Brown ever put up point like Bertuzzi? I maybe in the minority but the Brown contract worked out just fine IMO. there was a year where it looked ugly but then he bounced back nicely, and now it is running out before LA was tight against the cap.

Any idea what Bertuzzi would be looking for on an extension?

League is higher scoring now than when Brown was his age which has to be taken into account

I love all the chatter about Bertuzzi and yet Yzerman has never addressed this, Bertuzzi has denied it, and he never got scratched leading into the TDL.

I think the rumors are much ado about nothing.
It's more about teams having interest in Bertuzzi not that Yzerman is shopping him. This has already been mentioned and Yzerman already said at his presser that priority number 1 is to resign Bertuzzi for the right price.

I’d do something like unprotected 1st + Grans from LA. Gamble from both sides
No thanks Bertuzzi is worth more than the 19th overall pick and a RD prospect not trading Bert for futures.

Detroit to DC to Chicago

I feel like a deal with LA is begging for Turcotte's inclusion. Detroit has much less congestion at the center position than the Kings, and he could compete with Suter for the 2C role out of camp next year. If he's off limits that's fair enough, but I imagine Yzerman would be asking about him.

I can see the Devils inquire as well .Currently play too soft and need some guys like him to play with Bratt and Hughes.

Is there a way that Mercer would come back the other way? If not that's fair, but I think Detroit would only move Bertuzzi for legitimate help at the center or LHD positions, otherwise we probably work out an extension.

To the Penguins, choose your own adventure. Some combination of 2022 1st, Pettersson, Poulin, Olivier-Joseph, and Kapanen.

if he could play in Canada I'd be all over him because I have said it before Bertuzzi-Tavares_Nylander would be fantastic
