He is off to a roaring start in these playoffs, seemingly proving he does have the ''great playoff performer!'' profile many thought he had.

Feels like the kind of guy who will get a whopper of a contract this summer if he continues playing like this. Could we see 6-7 years @ 5-6 M per year from a desperate for post-season success GM?

Some gm will give him 7x7. He could easily be worth it if the dude could actually stay healthy.
That’s an absurd contract. You need to drive a line to get a contract like that. Bertuzzi is a great top six complimentary player and will get something similar to Hyman 5.5 x 7 or maybe a 6x6.

I would be utterly shocked if a GM gave him something like that with his injury history.

Nevertheless, great player and hoping the Bruins can resign him somehow.

Do you stay in Boston when they have less than $10 million to sign about 10 players including you? Do you stay in Boston if Bergeron and Krejci retire? Do you take a big discount when it's your shot at a big contract? Unless Boston can dramatically reshape their cap situation, it's going to be really tough to sign Bertuzzi.

If Debrincat moves on, Ottawa should offer this guy 6-7M for 7 years and lock that top-6 down

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Bertuzzi-Norris-Batherson

top-5 in the league as far as top-6 depth goes.

His durability scares the shit out of me.

I don't know if I could go beyond something like 5.5M for 2-3 years.

His play style doesn't age well but he's already unable to stay healthy.

I’m guessing matching 6 year, 5mill per contracts for Orlov and Bertuzzi.

Hall, Gryz and Forbort will be cap casualties.

The top six we saw last night will be the next generation.

Bertuzzi-Zacha-Pastrnak
Marchand-Coyle-Debrusk

Defense core

Orlov-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo

I agree with you, but if the Bruins win 12-16 games with him paying a big role, I can see someone doing something stupid.

There’s not a chance in hell that either of those players sign those contracts.

When and how are they going to spend on the middle of the ice?

Yep. The most he gets is probably 6 x $6 million. That’s already a little scary because of the way he plays and his injury history already.

It will be interesting who’s going to be in on him.

I'd love for him to stay a bruin but the reality is they are in cap hell, Sweeney sold the teams short term future for this one year. All of the deadline acquisitions will likely walk.

Line drivers are in the 8+ line now.

7 would be high, but not obscene given the climate now. And cap expected to go up.

Absolutely smoking hot take after today's game.
I admittedly don’t watch the Bruins when they’re not playing my team so I may be wrong on this one but his regular season seemed pretty underwhelming for a 6 million dollar cap hit. I would be interested to know his market value.
