I admittedly don’t watch the Bruins when they’re not playing my team so I may be wrong on this one but his regular season seemed pretty underwhelming for a 6 million dollar cap hit. I would be interested to know his market value.
He was really good prior to getting dinged up in January. Played through whatever it was until they sat him down right before the deadline. I thought he'd never score another goal at one point.

Aside from game 2, I think, he's been very effective this series. It's been a bit weird, in that his skating looks miles better but his wind doesn't seem to be where you'd expect.

Regardless, if he winds up going PPG over a long playoff stretch, moving him would be cake. If he farts out, he'll be a tough sell that likely won't get moved. Personally, I'm hoping he wins the Smythe, then we spend the summer screaming at each other on the Bruins board about him.

I’m guessing matching 6 year, 5mill per contracts for Orlov and Bertuzzi.

Hall, Gryz and Forbort will be cap casualties.

The top six we saw last night will be the next generation.

Bertuzzi-Zacha-Pastrnak
Marchand-Coyle-Debrusk

Defense core

Orlov-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
DeBrusk and Marchand are coming into the last year on their contracts. Also, I think Bergie is back next year

Good luck getting rid of Hall
If they chose to I really don't see any issue moving him. Not sure what the return looks like but he'll get a decent not great one I'm sure

He's absolutely perfect for Boston and I have to think he likes it there.

But unless the cap rises dramatically (like $4 million or so), it'd be impossible to keep him. Even if Bergeron and Krejci retire, they're able to find takers for Hall and Grzelcyk, deal one of the two goalies, etc., they're really hard up against the cap.

If I’m Tyler, I take a discount to stay in Boston.
Ah yes, the old "I'm just a fan but if I were a player I wouldn't care about the money and would take a discount to try and win" comment.

Dime a dozen, almost none of these would be sincere in practice.

Take it for what it's worth, Bertuzzi was adamant on havin a 7 year contract in Detroit and Yzerman wasn't keen on the length of that contract. I still think it makes sense for him to re-sign in Boston, he just firs.

He is off to a roaring start in these playoffs, seemingly proving he does have the ''great playoff performer!'' profile many thought he had.

Feels like the kind of guy who will get a whopper of a contract this summer if he continues playing like this. Could we see 6-7 years @ 5-6 M per year from a desperate for post-season success GM?
someone will overpay in $$ and term, of this i have no doubt

Can Boston afford him on a long term deal? Shouldn't they be leaving cap space to shore up the C position?
they can, but, they need a #1C and a #2C unless the pair come back once more on the cheap.

I would give him 7x5.5 from the caps and try to get Wilson at 8x5.5, willing to go up to 6 on each. Both of them on the same team through their primes would be a nightmare. On the off chance he still has chemistry with Mantha that would boost Mantha's performance/value as well

Figure he's gone from Boston with their 5 million cap penalty looming unless they make a bunch of moves to make room for him

where did you see th e7 years and was their a salary of that too?

Having mazur and bertuzzi on the same line just makes me imagine a red wings bash brothers situation.

With his injuries why would he take a discount. His career could be over anytime. He needs to cash in.
Maybe he values winning and being part of a top tier organization. If he could get a little less of a cap hit but for 8 years, he’ll get it on the back end.

The well-connected guys at the Winged Wheel Podcast reference it all the time on their pod.

It only takes one desperate GM for him to get 7x7. It’s likely to happen. Last three years of that deal might very well be on LTIR

I guess there is always a first time, but the main reason Bertuzzi was dealt is because he's been an absolute pain in the ass to sign every single step of the way. Unreliable availability is a close #2.
You're spot on. I loved Bert when he was with the Wings. Great competitor but his back issue is bound to come back so take a good offer when you get it. He probably gets advice from his Uncle plus his agent. Given the Wing's woes not a good idea sticking around Detroit unless a big long term deal was offered and SY likely would only offer 3 years at mediocre $$. SY is not in the business of handing out big contracts to complimentary players unless named Copp (ouch). I wish Bert all the best. I hope he does well with a good team.

He's going to get paid this offseason. Would love to add him to the Panthers if they could ship off a few contracts.

His playoff run will result in an even larger overpayment than he would've gotten before. Fine player but not the type to invest big $/term in, and you just know some team is going to.

Bruins should lock him up. He was one of the few bright spots in this year's chokeoffs
