With what money? If they buyout Suter and re-sign Tanev, they'd have about $4 to $4.5 million to sign Duchene AND a Suter replacement. That only really leaves $3 to $3.5 million for Duchene if you go bear minimum or ELC (Bichsel) on the Suter replacement.

I'm preparing myself for the Stars keeping Suter when the panic about knowing Tanev is gone. If they then also bought out Suter, they'd be left with only three NHL d-men on the roster.

He’s said several times that money is not an issue and has made a ton in his career. If he wants to stay, he will take that amount. Plus, he’s still getting paid by Nashville. Also, if he wanted a raise from Nill, he shouldn’t have shit the bed in the playoffs.
