I've watched Band of Brothers a dozen times, I couldn't get through The Pacific once. The drop-off in quality was that much.
Quality in what way?

I'd argue the production was superior.

It also did an extremely good job showing just how horrific and brutal the Pacific campaign was compared to Europe.

BOB is still better, but the Pacific is certainly a worthy entry.

It just never resonated with me. Band of Brothers sucked me in from the opening credits. The Pacific never did. Purely subjective, but I just never got into it.

It's definitely slower paced at first, and I don't particularly like the actor they chose to play Sledge, purely because he'll always be Tommy from Jurassic Park for me.

All that aside though, it's a good watch.

Masters of the Air has been in developmental hell for so long, I'm curious if it actually ends up being good

Have you ever watched a show that isn’t particularly good but you watch it regardless? That’s how I felt about How I Met Your Mother. And that’s how I feel about Winning Time on HBO.
I did that with The Walking Dead for a while. I mean, the first couple of years were pretty good I thought. But after year 3, I didn't like it as much but still watched hoping that they would return to the level of the first three seasons. But after about five years total, I just couldn't take it anymore. And the actual walking Dead were slower than the Sleestack on the Land of the Lost.

That's a fair observation.

Band of Brothers, was a story about a single, small unit and its individual members, based off a single book. That's why it was more cohesive.

The Pacific was a compilation of stories from a number of different people in different units/locations. Primarily based off of 2 separate books (With the Old Breed, and Helmet for my Pillow) which made it a lot more disjointed. Neither author (Sledge or Leckie) actually fought on Iwo Jima, however you can't have a USMC sanctioned mini series about the Pacific without including their shining moment.....

I'd love to see HBO do a mini-series about the USMC in Korea. From Pusan to the Chosin Reservoir campaign. The first 8 months of the war is fascinating history, that most people don't know about..

Will there be a second season of Shoresy?

Yes. Already renewed. Just about timing for when it will air.
The wait is almost over. :thumbu:

Crave announced today the return of its smash-hit original series, SHORSEY, for its six-episode second season. Just in time for puck drop on hockey season, the first two episodes drop on Friday, Sept. 29, followed by one new episode every Friday. Created by and starring Jared Keeso, directed by Jacob Tierney and produced by New Metric Media in association with Play Fun Games, the half hour comedy sees the foul-mouthed, chirp-serving, mother-loving, fan favourite character, Shoresy (Keeso), and the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs of the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Organization (The NOSHO), continue their quest to never lose again.

In the Season 2 debut, “Get ‘Em Focused,” the Bulldogs focus on a league record, while the next episode, “Skill vs Will,” sees them prepare to play the new American team.

Joining the stellar lineup this season are Frederick Roy (son of Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy), international pop star Rêve, Catherine St-Laurent (Tu Dors Nicole) and Jordana Lajoie (THE BOYS).

Featured guest stars also include Scott Thompson (KIDS IN THE HALL), Jonathan Torrens (TRAILER PARK BOYS), Jacob Tierney (LETTERKENNY), Camille Sullivan (TRIGGER ME), Eliana Jones (NORTHERN RESCUE), Kim Cloutier (LETTERKENNY), Michala Brasseur (GRAND ARMY), as well as social media star and podcaster Lysandre Nadeau.

Thank you for the update.

watching season 2 of Dark Winds, well done show, for easy laughs, FISK on Netflix, liking the Night Agent too, Only Murders in the Building remains a show I am surprised at, thought when I first tuned in it would be horrible but I was wrong, so much fun, and Painkiller with Matthew Broderick is exceptionally good but so sad and infuriating

super late to the Beatles Get Back doc, so amazing watching and listening to all the behind the scenes stuff. Remarkable watching how these legends put together what would become massive hits.

Also a bit surprised at how accepting they were with Yoko (at least they are just 2 parts in), feel bad for Harrison whose immense talent seemed minimized. Ringo always seems/seemed content just being in the band

The final season of Reservation Dogs has been incredible so far, and it sucks that it’s soon coming to an end. So different and unique compared to most other shows. I’m really surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention than it has. It’s easily one of the best shows on tv right now. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out.

Suits is our current binge. I know we're behind the times, but I had never seen it. Things I like and things I don't but good enough to keep me engaged.

Makes me wonder - what have you all not yet seen, but it's on your list? I need to find a way to watch Letterkenny.

The best thing about Suits is Donna. The worst is any relationship except the non-existent one between Harvey and Donna.
