I'm halfway into season 4 now and can see why so many people love this season. It really is good. Heard it's also the season where the infamous "Hello, Dexter Morgan" quote comes from.
I was looking at the files the other day for seasons 5-end and I still have no urge to watch them.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if they stick to a run time, or if there's some variation that is based around pacing rather than uniformity.
The third episode is around the same length as the first 2, according to some media people who got an early screening.

I was expecting the episodes to be in the 45-50 minute range, so it was a bit jarring to see them be shorter.

I would like to see some variation, I feel like the show could benefit from longer episodes. I want to know as much about the world and story as possible

On a personal level, I'm strangely okay with the shorter run time.

I'm a busy person and I like knowing that I don't have to clear an hour to watch each episode. In that sense, it's nice to watch a show that makes you want to see more and anticipate the release of the next episode.

In a binge-watching, 45 minute episode world, it's a different approach.

I've also wanted this type of Star Wars show for years. Nothing against grand sagas with sweeping scale, sometimes it's nice to zero in on how things are transpiring on a micro-level.

In a half hour segment, the story line will move along very slowly. Now, I like what I am seeing, but think that they need the extra 15 minutes.

Totally fair

For shows I really don't know anything about, I much rather them be 30 minutes. Easier to get through and if I don't like it, I've only wasted 30 minutes and not an hour.

I love Star Wars though, so I would be 100% ok with episodes being longer. Guess it just depends on the show

Completely unexpectedly I got notification that Netflix's show The Crown - that I thought was canceled after two seasons - has it's season 3 up. I'm halfway through it and so far so good. Episodes about Princess Margaret visit to U.S. and a Welsh (Wales' ?) village school disaster were great TV in absolutely uniquely different ways.

The Crown is a show I was sure I would have negative interest in. Then ended up watching the first episode on a whim with my Grandma and two days later we'd finished the season.

The production value is just unbelievable and overall it's such an interesting way to learn some relevant history, too. I had no idea at all about London's infamous "Killer Fog" situation.

I did blow through "The Toys That Made Us" last week while traveling.

I always find that show to be an enjoyable 45 minutes that goes by quickly.

Season 3 landed on 11/15.

The Irishman was really, really good.

I had mixed feelings. The first hour seemed forced, but it started to pull me in. I think my biggest issues were it felt like a recycled Scorcese flick & the 78 year old actors playing 35 year old characters. They all gave great performances of course, but it was pushing the borders of credibility.

I went to the movies & saw Motherless Brooklyn yesterday. I really love the Noir genre & this was a great modern adaptation of a 50s flick.

Me and my Dad just finished seeing The Irishman. My Mom gave up like an hour and a half into it haha.

I agree. It started off forced, but it picked up after that.

Thought The Irishman was good, but far from great. It reminded me of an Old-Timers baseball game.

Agreed on the short lenght of The Mandalorian. The story had me hooked like 5 mins in and then it suddenly ended. Actually, its not 30 but rather 20 minutes with all the repeating at the begining and the cast titles at the end.

Also, anyone here watches Ballers? I thoroughly enjoyed the first three and even the fourth series, but the fifth is several levels worse (or the first two episodes I managed to watch before leaving it be completly).

I saw Waves yesterday. It was the most emotional I've felt watching a movie in a long time. It felt pretty unique and you were never too sure where it was going. Definitely recommended.

Parasite (South Korean) was really good, too. I would put that in my top 5 of the year along with Waves and The Farewell.

I really enjoyed the Peanut Butter Falcon with Shia LeBeouf. Maybe in my top 5 so far this year. His Honey Boy is my next movie.

I thought Queen & Slim was a good film. I'd like to see it again.

Knives Out was well done, but I'm not a fan of the genre.

Black and Blue was really gritty. It was pretty entertaining for what it was. 21 Bridges, on the other hand, was pretty meh.

I really enjoyed Motherless Brooklyn. I started out hating Norton's character, but really loved his performance by the end of the movie.

I hated the Lighthouse. I see a ton of movies and do a pretty good job of weeding out the bad ones, but I hated this from the start and I went into it thinking I would like it.

JoJo Rabbit. The subject matter was a bit cringy at times, but also some really good laughs. The writer/director is brilliant. He did the Hunt for the Wilderpeople , What We Do In the Shadows, some Flight of the Conchords, Thor, etc.

Zombieland 2 wasn't as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it.

Charlie's Angels. Um, well early retirement affords me lots of free time. This killed 2 hours of it.

I'm conflicted about the Irishman. I liked a lot of it, but something disappointed me by the end of it. Hard to say.

I love a lot of what Mark Duplass does, but I just couldn't get into it. I stopped watching after a few episodes.
I don't know any of his (or their) work....I really like 104 -- thinking about it, I can say it's an "acquired taste".

He was on the tv show, "The League". He's acted in a bunch of movies, but he's also a writer and director. He wrote/directed a great little indie called "Safety Not Guaranteed". He did a movie called "Cyrus". His tv show on HBO "Togetherness" was really good. I think he has a deal with HBO and also Netflix. After Togetherness, he started Room 104 with his brother Jay with whom he collaborates with a lot . On Netflix, he has movies called "Paddleton", "Blue Jay", and "Creep" (plus the sequel). Most of his movies/shows are really good.
