TV Movie Thread Part Iii

Any other Mr Robot fans here? I think it's the best show in the last 10 years. After the show the actress who played Angela decided to start a business and retired from acting.
Never finished it....only watched it for Christian Slater and it turned out better than I thought it could be. I'll get back to it one day.

Hoping Q2 of new releases is better then the dreck of Q1. Some quick reviews on what I have seen in past few months.

Love Hurts: Absolute dog poop, with way too much stop motion fight scenes.
Mickey 17: Had such high hopes, don't really blame Pattinson, but this was poor.
Black Bag: Favorite movie of the year so far, a sharp looking movie that is in and out in 90 minutes.
Novocaine: Kind of dumb, but Jack Quaid is easy to root for.
Opus: I liked it more then others, but still average.
A Working Man: Hated this! Statham is never in trouble while killing seemingly going into every confrontation wildly outnumbered.
The Luckiest Man In America: PWH really nailed the mannerisms of the man he played, but overall, a pretty empty 90 minutes.
The Amateur: A completely average action thriller that probably would have made a lot more money when people actually went to the movies.
Warfare: A really tough watch, but incredible audio and visuals from Alex Garland. Every actor did well here, this should be a must see in theaters if you were planning on wanting to see it.

Looking forward to Sinners this week, reviews seem great, and it was actually shot with iMax cameras, so it should look awesome.

I achieved the impossible and got the lady to start the MCU in chronological order. We’re at End Game and she has a Baby Groot funko-pop on her dashboard. Trying to explain that it’s all down hill from here has been hard.

Mr Robot is absolutely stellar. It’s also Rami Malek’s most believable role IMO. He was was perfect as a neurotic nobody and all these subsequent castings as dudes with guns or whatever have partially missed on what made him a great actor to begin with.

What about making an original movie?

I thought Beetlejuice 2 was actually a lot more enjoyable than the first. The first is disjointed and the Maitlands are boring main characters. Plus Keaton is barely in it. The second has a goofy side plot with the ex but otherwise is way more fun and leans into the things people love about the OG. Even if it is just fan service, the original is just a cult classic - it wasn’t truly a good movie. Plus Catherine O’Hara has turned into one of the most fun actresses in Hollywood.
