Just watching 6th episode of Dune Prophecy -- honest assessment: this will be my last. The constant switching from the past to the present without any warning really wrecks the flow of the story -- which would work well if they stayed in one time period.
We finished it. I'm sure that I'll give s2 a shot, but not sure how I feel about s1. Too much going back and forth in time. Why have people abandoned linear story-telling? Anyway, I think I disliked it less than that first season of House of Dragons, another spin-off from classic stories.

LOL....it would be a perfect day for a 10 hour stream of Landman if they were into season 3 but unfortunately we are in its rookie season at this stage .

Oh well....Happy Holidays everyone ! Enjoy the day with your family members....our holidays as usual will be very quiet...and that is not all bad either !

I'm loving Landman. Billy-Bob is amazing.

I worked for a major Oil&Gas company for 20 years. In one role I was the Performance Manager for the Drilling division of the company and I used to have to track HSE reporting.

It's a dangerous industry for sure, but safety was ingrained in our culture. We would have been crucified for all the injuries and deaths we have seen on the show in the first few episodes. I guess it makes for good tv drama though.

Ali Larter is a smokeshow on Landman and so is that 27-year old actress playing his 17 year old daughter. I crack up every time I see the lawyer's reaction to both of them half naked in the house.

Depends on how much you like season 1. I thought the storyline was a great as it has a bit of everything (which is common on UK shows). I especially enjoyed the characters. Season 2 is definitely not as good as the 1, but it is good entertainment.

We just started it last week and we're through half of s2. I have mixed feelings. It's entertaining (after that first episode that took me like 5 attempts to get through) and I like the sisters, but sometimes I think it should have been called Idiot Sisters instead of Bad Sisters. Their plans are terrible and their reactions are worse. Rule #1 of doing anything bad is not telling anyone. I realize that they are "normal" people, but their reactions with the cops always raise suspicion. Learn to just keep your mouths shut.

Anyway, I'm trying to decide which character is the most annoying: the insurance agent from s1, the old lady from s2, or the young female detective from s2? I guess they make for a good foil, but man you just want the sisters to punch them or something.

Annoying: definitely Angelica. Most hated: JP hands down.

I was thinking about your response during my morning commute and I began to wonder if you didn't take the show too seriously. I believe the book/show were written as a satire rather than serious drama/mystery.

I realize that it is a black comedy and I wasn't expecting it to be Gomorrah or The Wire, but regardless, these women are really bad at killing and then covering it up. Hence the ensuing dramedy that is needed for the show.

PS, I get enough black comedy from watching the Rangers. Now this has to a satire. I'm waiting for the writer to have the players try to forfeit a game over Drury's handling of the players.

I'm gonna start watching them again next season.

EDIT: I tried to watch Picard. Including animation there have been 11 ST shows. I think this is the worst one.

I used to watch all ST in the 90’s and Next Generation was my favorite (I liked DS9 too) so I had a predisposition to like it but I barely made through s1. I see a lot of ST shows (on Paramount+?) but now I’m scared to start a new one just to be disappointed again.

I watched a few episodes of Strange New Worlds, the ST prequel and it was pretty good. I stopped watching after my P+ discounted price ended. I've had P+ a few times since then (and now), but I just never went back to it since I'm not a big Trekkie (except for the original series).

DS9 is the only ST I haven't gotten through.

How can there be 3000 movies and shows on Netflix and I cant find 1 good one lol? :D

All I do is scroll and give up and go to sleep.

Been watching blu rays from my collection instead.

I'm gonna start watching them again next season.

I liked Picard. Out of the live acting shows I think I liked DS9 the least.

Just found out I get the Paramount + app which is great for Serie A soccer, then my son found this cool movie on it, which we watched as a family on Christmas Eve. Really cute family friendly movie.

AP Bio is funny if you like "Community" type shows (Glen whats his name from It's Always Sunny)

The Terror was a decent short series (drama / thriller) with some good actors.

Not that I'm a huge Netflix fan lol
I have been wanting something funny to watch so I will check it out. Thanks for the heads up!

Carry-On on Netflix. Solid 8 out of 10. Never saw Jason Bateman in that type of role before.

He was good. "Likeable" villain with a sense of humor. The Gift is another film where he's kinda like that.

Gladiator II was overall meh. There is a major retcon job in this sequel.

Small Things Like These with Cillian Murphy. Excellent slow burn of a movie.

Alien Romulus was awful. Nothing more than a bad script that was a greatest hits of the series with zero originality to offer. The Ripley line near the end was groan inducing.
