Started watching the show The Madness last night . It was good . Black man framed for a murder ....I won't say much on it so as not to ruin the plot .
Just watched first episode.....was like watching an episode of the Twilight Zone. I'll give it another episode or two before making final judgment.

movie: 'The Substance' was incredible

Wife & I ate some shrooms & watched... wild ass ride lol

We watched it also and thought it was fantastic until the very end, but we were not on shrooms so, maybe we missed that party. While we totally “got it” as far as message and meaning, the absurdity of the very finale was “too much” for us. Not meaning it offended or upset us, just that it got too ridiculous for us to fully appreciate it in conjunction with the prior hour or so that had been really tight and cohesive and poignant, in our opinions. But we also probably should have done shrooms.

We’re still really enjoying the nostalgia of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Twisters. In particular Beetlejuice, especially after binging Schitt’s Creek for a second time and seeing Moira reprise her role as Delia Deetz.

Jenna Ortega isn’t bad to look at either.

The Substance....I'm not sure how a movie that bad was actually finished . I tried watching it but it was so far out there I don't think any kind of drugs would have made it better . Oh well different strokes for different folks.

Blitz. Decent film about Saoirse Ronan being mom to a runaway biracial kid during the Blitz. Has some uplifting moments but meanders too much from idea to idea.

The ending was ridic but I loved the way the entire movie was shot.

Wolfs. Started great but puttered through the final act. If you enjoy Pitt and Clooney on screen together doing the buddy thing, this fits the bill.

I thought it was pretty hysterical.

Took me forever to figure out the voice of the "woman on the phone" at the start

Agree. It was funny, and I thought the kid stole the show. Just felt they could've taken the unconventional premise further. It was like 3/4 of a Coen brothers movie.

Had to look up the voice of woman on phone. Interesting.

Eh, ok to pass IMO. My wife is a big fan of these actors but even she (or maybe because of being a fan) was greatly disappointed. Without spilling beans in a one supposedly breath-holding slo-mo scene she predicted exactly what was going to happen...

The curious case of Haley Joel Osment TWICE playing a boy whose mom has HIV and dies of AIDS.

Forrest Gump was on TV the other day, so it reminds me of the curious case of Haley Joel Osment. We know that in the movie, Jenny dies from HIV/AIDS but not before having a kid with Forrest, who Jenny names Forrest Jr. and is understood to be around 6 years old. Haley Joel Osment plays Forrest Jr. and safe to say he is HIV+ -- as does Forrest himself. They did avoid saying this overtly but it's safe to assume.

Forrest Gump came out in 1994. Three years later, Haley Joel Osment would be cast for Chuck Norris-led Walker, Texas Ranger. In a deluxe story arc split into two episodes, Osment plays Lucas, who is 7 years old. Lucas has a mother who has HIV and dies and is left in the care of Walker. Walker eventually tells Lucas his mom died of AIDS and that he also has HIV and will die.

Osment blurts the line "Walker told me I have AIDS." is a meme now.

I know that HIV and AIDS is not funny, but the delivery was f***ing legend.

I still can't believe Gump won Best Picture over Pulp Fiction and Shawshank Redemption. One point that doesn't matter but people forget is that Shawshank didn't do well at the box office, earning just over $16 million.
