I don't care what Elliotte Friedman said, or that the Bruins later came out and denied it (would you really expect them to do otherwise?).

The Bruins were close to dealing Rask at last years draft. I was (then) and remain (now) adamant about that.

This team needs a change in its core. Identify your core players and who is moveable (other than Bergeron or Marchand) and it comes back to Rask.

Whether Sweeney or Neely see it that way again this offseason, time will tell

Maybe they put this defense out in front of him this year to try and get him to be accepting of a deal ;)

That's a nice tidbit for trying to get into their mind set for the offseason, thanks for passing it along. Still gotta get Tuukka to accept, though I imagine it might be easier now than it was last year if he wants to win. If he doesn't want to move due to his family I get that too.

As for the idea of moving Rask, I'm not against it because I don't think it's necessarily great asset management to have a 7 million dollar goalie. With that said I still think he's an elite netminder.

In all seriousness Kirk seems to love the kid and his makeup so it wouldn't shock me to see him turn into a good goalie

He reportedly was immobile for 9 minutes during the pregame. He's human and if he had intense nausea,stomach cramps or the like he would have hurt this team. How about some common sense? No one can feel someone else's pain or illness.

He wasn't. He did very little of the pre-game routine.

Also imagine what more of a **** show this thread would be if he pushed the issue and had a horrible game.

It was the biggest game of the year!!!! Ah forget it. Old time hockey toughness is gone. Poor Tuukka and his cramps

I like Zane way more than Subban. At worst Zane will be a good backup, but I could see him as a Number 1. He is fundementally sound and has good size.

Subban is still too trick or treat. Reminds me Hannu.
 
As someone who remembers the goalie carousel of the late 90s to mid-2000s very well, unless you can find another legit #1 goalie in trading Tuukka or free agency, you don't move him. He still has potential to get better, and his contract isn't as damaging as Chara's currently is or Chris Kelly's has been.

It's ludicrous,I'm sure he's played many times when he shouldn't have and this time was just too much. How in the hell can anyone determine the severity of someone else's illness? I'm sure Tuukka wanted to play,c'mon.
 
Tuukka Rask is the worst goalie in the league, he didn't even gift me a quarter of his salary smh




I figured I would join in if we were going to be disappointed in him for completely unrealistic expectations. Sorry that he was sick in a game that the Bruins scored 1 goal anyway. Loss is definitely on him.
 
I can understand being frustrated that our 7 million goaltender wasn't available for our last game, the biggest of the year. And I ask myself how he can get sick the morning of the biggest game of the year.

But if he's puking and ****ing, he cannot play. This is ridiculous. They are not going to stop play every few minutes so he can go to the bathroom. He can't "leave it all on the ice", literally. There is zero chance he's going to play well if that's his condition.

This is ridiculous. I'm frustrated too, but if he's that sick he can't play.
