Because this team wasn't going to be fixed in 9 months.

Chia also basically sold his soul for that cup run with the Iginla deal.

The poor drafting and contracts from the Chia era severely hampered what Sweeney could do.

I won't even get into the 2015 picks. People won't know if they were right or wrong for a few years.

I'll bet you $100 Barzal/Connor are better than Sensheyn/DeBrusk in the long run.

Why reach, what's the benefit; it rarely works ever.

The Bickell being uncovered 5 feet in front of the goal and Bolland not getting tied up by either Ference or Boychuk is Rasks fault too.

5 feet around the net is by far the biggest issue for the Bruins, constantly losing coverage and let people just sit there unopposed. By far my biggest issue with the team is that.

And then sometimes when all else fails the goalie makes the incredible save. Oh wait, we're talking about Tuukka here, sorry.

Yep. Tuukka never makes a big save :help:

Or does he just not make every big save so all others are null and void.

He's historically known for not making the big save. That's the biggest knock most have on his game actually.

Listen, I don't think the B's should be looking into dealing Rask. But to pretty much declare that this man does no wrong is asinine. I'm pissed he didn't play today. I'm pissed that the team didn't make it. I really do believe we win if he plays, even if he's ******** himself. And maybe that's selfish of me as a fan, but if I was getting shelled 7 million I'd be playing on my death bed. And the Olympics. Same thing? It's just funny, I don't know what to really think of all of this. But he let me down today. I can't imagine what his teammates think or feel.

Rask is really uneven in his performance and I feel it has become more so. Not feeling confident about him at the moment.
 
Who played in the last game is a tell tale of this organization, think about!

Rask is a very good goalie ($7mil is elite but I won't go there) as long as the team is very good. When the team is just good so too is he. Over time as the team is bad so is he.

Does anybody see the dilution there? It's from top to bottom. Louis is so taking that first train coming through here. He stays and 90% won't be happy with the contract.
 
As I said it before, i think Rask was part of Boston problem in2015-2016. Is he alone, no. Is there some other issue. Yes. But regarding the integrity of a player/man and his capabilty of playing can't be challenge. Rask did not play because he was ill, that is it. It.

But yesterday game was a total non show form 95% of the team excluding Gus. Pasta was one of the best until the collapse. I am very disappointed and this year result. Thiught we would get in. That is going to be it for now.
 
If we were gonna deal Rask it should've been last summer when we had Jones. Can't deal Rask now. Don't think Subban or Zane is the answer. Gotta give one of them a season of back-up at least.

Far and away the #1 issue on this team was defense. You go into the year with a bottom 5 defense and miss the playoffs by 1 point and people blame the coach and goalie. :laugh:

Must not have ever heard of a NMC...doesn't he have a young family? Yeah not happening until that expands a little in a couple years. Let's whine over it when it was never an option to begin with. Mahhhtin jones is bettttah
 
Thread is almost full, so I'll leave you with something to discuss in the new thread:

(I know Wally is going to have to back me up here as most won't believe it)

I don't care what Elliotte Friedman said, or that the Bruins later came out and denied it (would you really expect them to do otherwise?).

The Bruins were close to dealing Rask at last years draft. I was (then) and remain (now) adamant about that.

This team needs a change in its core. Identify your core players and who is moveable (other than Bergeron or Marchand) and it comes back to Rask.

Whether Sweeney or Neely see it that way again this offseason, time will tell

Bledsoe is the one I made and stick by: very good player. When everything is just right around him he can get darn close to a championship. But if someone else has a breakdown when the pressure is on, he's not going to make the play. His defenders time and again will point to the cast around him and will never admit that there is just that little something missing... until the next guy comes along and takes the job and proves it.
