Considering that is a reason why Shapiro was brought in, and a reason why Shapiro found the job appealing, and something he's shown frustration with, it explains why he is seemingly looking to move on himself by exploring other jobs.

It appears to be a foregone conclusion that Shapiro and Atkins are gone after this year, and perhaps sooner if Shapiro finds a gig elsewhere.

Yeah I meant its Shapiro's choice, not that Rogers are letting him go.

Would also agree that makes Atkins an extreme lame duck, which probably ends up in him throwing some terrible money around to try to save his job which isn't great either.

Not a great time for that kind of transition if the rumours are true. This and next are pretty critical off seasons for this org

Shapiro wants to move on without seeing his rebuild through? I am fine with him going out, but this potential instability is unnerving at this stage.

Well, I think there’s a chance people who wanted Dombrowski instead of Shapiro might get their wish realized

A change in management would just be stupid now. Keep them on for a few more years. Yes they have made mistakes but they have done extremely well drafting, developing and international signings. Those are the key components to building success teams.

AA only has one year left in Atlanta right? I would be pushing hard for him to come back.

Built a top 10 farm system twice in 5 years and wasn't afraid to make a big move. In the end he went way too far in going for it but it was a hell of a fun time to watch baseball.

Shapiro is not going anywhere. This is all speculation and I only have to go as far back as 2 weeks ago when he stated he isn't going anywhere. His family is here in Toronto and he will setup roots here. This is good for the Jays.

If Shapiro leaves before he sees this through, I could see his legacy being the same as Tim Leiweke's -- came in completely tone deaf to the city and essentially disliked by many, but whose structure put in place and the rewards from it will be appreciated and recognized long after he's gone.

Is there any reason why this guy would be considered trustworthy on this subject? I haven’t seen anyone else usually in the know even comment on something like this.

He has sources within Rogers. He breaks most if not all Toronto media personality changes.
