You ever have to pull over on a road trip to take a dump? I did that this past week. I was out of town for work and it's a 4 1/2 drive to the next town. I had to pull over on the highway about 200km away and run to the woods because I had no other choice.

Taking a #2 while making eye contact with Bison as they watch you is an absolute thrill. There's literally HUNDREDS of those big bastards on the commute. It's actually crazy.

I just figured you all needed to know that.
More exciting than anything I encountered this week!

My mother in law passed in 2017 after a long, brutal battle with cancer. My father in law put his life on hold for a few years to take care of her.

After she passed, he met a lady friend at a grief group (they already knew each other but got reconnected through that) and now they’re…companions? What do you call people in their 80s who start dating?

Anywho, they had a medium come to my father in laws house to see if they could summon their spouses, they had each been to them in the past and it helped them feel more connected to their passed loves, whatever works. My husband went to support his dad, I sat it out.

My husband came home and I asked how it was. He said fine, weird, but they were all happy. Then he said the medium didn’t get any reads on him, but she did on me. Generally, I’m skeptical…look around long enough, you can tell people what they want to hear.

I wasn’t there, and the medium said things my husband may not have known. One was a classmate from college who passed, we were friendly and he always liked me (as a friend) and was glad to see I was doing ok. She provided info about how he died.

The one that really got me was she said she was seeing an older man in Las Vegas that my husband didn’t really know but was close to me, and he was so happy/thankful that I seemed happy and thankful to my husband for looking out for me.

My grandparents retired and died in Vegas. Zero point zero chance a medium could have picked that up.

Another Halloween, another year with no trick or treaters. Maybe my wife was right that I shouldn't have bought 5 bags of candy, maybe I was right that it's better to be prepared, there is no way to have known.

I guess Bocephus86 has to eat all the candy yet again. I take my task seriously, and with only minimal joy.

Dropped heat on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike one time. Very late at night. Terrifying to be that close to a parade of trucks flying by with my asshole hanging out roadside.

Urinated into MANY different containers roadside and in traffic.

The roadside heater was so much worse

Loaded up my car with the first round of boxes/fragile stuff I don't want flying around in the back of the Uhaul on Saturday. I'm already exhausted.

Meet the landlords tomorrow morning to pick up the keys. Let the games begin....

That is amazing, I do believe some have a gift. A couple of years ago, a friend went to a medium and the medium told him that the mother of one of his friends had passed away on the weekend. He was baffled by it because he didn't know of anyone who had died. The medium said to tell his friend that their Mom was okay and is at peace.

I talked to this friend several days afterwards, to tell him that my Mom had passed away. He was shocked, told me what the medium had said and the message from my mother that she was okay. My mother took her life, she wasn't physically ill. I don't believe it was a coincidence.

A reminder to vote DAILY for Kenneth (GeeWally's great nephew....if you hadn't heard)! He is in 15th place, 6 days to go - please take a minute to help if you can! Free votes every day!

Who will be the 2024 Baby of the Year?

The Descent is so much better than it had any right to be. Such perfect use of the setting to drive the plot and the fear. One of my favorites.
I am not a horror movie fan so I don't have a big repertoire to pull from, but that movie had me on edge the entire time.
