If I were Vancouver I'd be pissed at Carolina over this. What Boeser deal did they turn down from other suitors?
You feel bad because they missed out on Boeser ?i feel bad for carolina. they are always in the mix but it just never seems to work out right.
Allvin made it seem like the offers were awful for Boeser, not sure I would consider KK and a 1st awful.
@Peter Griffin maybe the Canucks GM is not so bad after all?Friedman confirmed that no 1st round picks from anyone were offered to Van for Boeser.
Allvin said the same thing in his presser.
Serravalli afterwards also said teams were concerned about Boeser's blood clot which made him less than ideal candidate for a rental because he could miss time when they need him the most in playoffs.

its awful because its said that Tulsky wanted one of Vancouver's better prospects to hand over the 1st.Allvin made it seem like the offers were awful for Boeser, not sure I would consider KK and a 1st awful.
Yea if that is true, Tulsky is braindead.its awful because its said that Tulsky wanted one of Vancouver's better prospects to hand over the 1st.
Why? Apparently the deal didn't even get talked about until 30 minutes prior to the deadline ending, if Vancouver didn't take another offer before then based on something that is going to be a struggle to get worked out then that's on Vancouver. If I were Vancouver I'd be pissed at Carolina over this. Sounds like a Carolina is the only one to blame since the Rantanen deal was pretty much done when the TDL started. They had ample time to facilitate this other than 30 minutes until the TDL was over.
Actually insane that Carolina’s GM still has a job
Can’t execute another trade if you don’t have the necessary cap space, not sure how that’s not getting through here
They were still “closing in” on the extension at 12:30pm et based on a Friedman tweet, working out contract details takes time, in this case too much time
Y’all aren’t in a position to win it this year, sorry to tell youWhen one considers that 31 teams are considered losers every year, I'll take the guy that at least has us in position to win it every year.
What's not to like about a young core, signed long term, at contracts that leave a lot of room to add top level talent?
If Tulsky were fired today, he'd have another GM job before the signature ink on the termination papers were dry.
Is it though? He's been their GM for less than a year.Actually insane that Carolina’s GM still has a job
it's actually pretty insulting as an offer if the reports that the canes also wanted a top prospect back are true. allvin specifically name checked lekkermaki, willander and d-pettersson as guys he was asked for when trying to trade boeser. each of those players by himself is worth a dallas first.Allvin made it seem like the offers were awful for Boeser, not sure I would consider KK and a 1st awful.
rantanen didnt work either. they tried to take a couple big swings now. i like the canes do i hope they get someone. You feel bad because they missed out on Boeser ?
Though tbh, he might work well in that system
Can’t trade assets that aren’t officially yours with cap space that doesn’t exist until the initial trade consummates. Again, not hard to understandRookie GM handles the situation like the rookie he is.
Canes fan base rather than looking inside wants to blame Rantanen/Agent for everything. Comical.
You hired an Excel sheet nerd to run the hockey operations and he isn't experienced in navigating a deadline.
Fair enough. Also apologies for the laughing emote, old habits die hard I suppose.rantanen didnt work either. they tried to take a couple big swings now. i like the canes do i hope they get someone.
doesn't mean you cant plan ahead and have a conditional deal ahead of time so then you're just working out the fine print details for the last 30 minutes. Can’t trade assets that aren’t officially yours with cap space that doesn’t exist until the initial trade consummates. From the article it doesn't seem like they were that close on a deal anyway if Vancouver didn't want to get worse and Carolina was offering up a 1st and KK to get Boeser and a prospect. So not sure how much talking earlier would have helped.doesn't mean you cant plan ahead and have a conditional deal ahead of time so then you're just working out the fine print details for the last 30 minutes.
How hard would it be to go to a team and be like hey look i have a conditional deal in place. If that goes through i can offer you a 1st + 3rd or whatever. Wont go into specifics of what team those picks are from. If this deal goes through and the player is still on your roster at that time, would this work for you? If it does i'll circle back so we can quickly finalze the final details
You havent traded any assets that aren't yours, you havent used any cap space that isnt yours. You've created a parameters for a trade based on a hypothetical scenario so if it comes to fruition, you can quickly finalze it instead of having to start from ground at the last minute
true but they also waited until 30 minutes to the deadline. They could have thrown their hat in the ring for other players that were eventually traded. Who knows, maybe one of those teams waits and prefers the Canes offer. From the article it doesn't seem like they were that close on a deal anyway if Vancouver didn't want to get worse and Carolina was offering up a 1st and KK to get Boeser and a prospect.
