you'd think for a guy like Caufield he would have to produce a lot for being a guy that is primarily there for scoring goals to get that kind of respect but apparently not.

You mean produce like being 2nd in goals/game over the past 4 seasons (since his rookie year) among eligible players on this list?

I don't agree with having him that high either, but weird to question his goal scoring production when he is quite clearly one of the best, if not the best, pure goal scorers on the list.

Saw Cowan over McMichael, and that instantly made this list laughably bad. Didn't get any better going up the board. Terrible list is terrible.

Click bait rating very high though, good job I guess for tsn?!

Within that range they've listed guys like Stutzle, who have put up 90 point in the NHL and Zeev Buium, who has yet to play an NHL game. Lucas Raymond, who is almost PPG over the last 2 seasons in the NHL, is 21, while guys who may never have full NHL careers are ahead of him. Ryan Leonard is ahead of Raymond?
Agree, but Raymond is 22, drafted right after Stutzle.

The problem with a list like this is that its comparing those that are very good right now (Hughes) vs. the projected greatness of others (Celebrini).

And since there is a significant age range here & how quickly players develop between draft day and their 24th birthday, makes this list even more difficult to evaluate.

I'd sooner they just stick to a list of the best players under 24 right now, and another for the top prospects.

That list is an absolute slap in the face to Lafreniere, Schneider and Will Cuylle.

Yes a bit of a homer view but come on.
i dunno. i think there's a difference between being a great player and being great at contributing to winning.

for example, for the Rangers you mentioned, they may not be as talented as the guys on this list - they're not - but because they play in front of Shesterkin they play winning hockey

How you put kids outside of the nhl comfortably ahead of first line talents in the NHL is beyond me. Using Minnesota as an example, there’s no way in hell you can rank Buium over Boldy. Boldy is former 12th overall pick who was a home run. Buium was just the 12th pick this past draft.

By now I'm convinced many of these media lists are intentionally messed up to garner more clicks. Controversy and sensationalism sells.
100%

There is no universe where Cowan is in the top 50

But that's where if you watched the players on a regular basis, you would see how consistently good they are.

To say Igor is the reason why the team is winning with these guys instead of their performances is kind of a naive take.

Even Gabe Perrault is not on the list and he is one of the top prospects in hockey.
