Corporations don't even want to pretend to give us a hug anymore. All they care about is maximizing their money however they can and give no f***s about consumers. The amount of players has only shrunk leaving only the giants standing that will surely tighten the noose as they get more and more power to do so. It really does make me want to start just sitting on the sidelines and doing something else with the time.
I definitely watch a lot less NFL football than I used to. I find I’m reading more than turning on the TV these days. If you have a library card, the books are free and I live close to the library. There’s an enormous selection available. DVDs are free too.

When you see the picture, you’ll wish they had all the games.
Especially if have 4K TV.
I get some games on the 4K channel from TSN and Sportsnet, and looks better than those.
Hmm, I watched the EDM MTL game last night on prime and thought it looked pretty good, but I didn't have it on my good tv, I'll have to check out next week's game on the home theater setup.

Thanks for the tip.

You can go back and FF into the Habs/Oilers game anytime you want, and check it out, up until next Monday
not sure if they keep games past a week, I haven’t checked.

Definitely not a bad thing. There's lots else in life to enjoy without high entry fees or feeling like you're being taken advantage of. I've done this sports thing all my life. I will continue to do so to a certain extent, but I've also detached more than ever and there's limits to how far I will go. Lots of other things in life to enjoy and I'd rather bow out than feel like I'm compromising my values like I would if I got Prime simply because they bought 1 game a weeks exclusive rights. I'll use my free month for 1 of the 2 exclusive Sens games and cancel after, then I'll just do without the other one. Or just stream the shit for free elsewhere like many people do. Our Corporate Overlords have no shame in what they want to squeeze, and will surely dump human workforce on their asses for robots, so imo, the general public should react accordingly. Especially considering elected officials these days seem to be so devoid of any moral integrity that we all basically have built in excuses to act the same./rant lol

That’s how it works in every NHL city, you need to subscribe to the local broadcast on regional nights. The team has zero say in it.
Not saying it’s good, but that’s how it works for every team.
We're getting our apples and oranges mixed up here

This thread is about in market people paying for access and not getting access.

Which is my situation. My Internet TV with a TSN app tells me the game is not available. My old TV that uses a bell streamer has TSN as a channel so I'm watching tonight's game on channel 400 on Bell

Something about large corporations involved in another industry or business getting involved in content or media doesn’t sit well with me. Don’t know why that is. Maybe time for anti-trust although whether that works or not, I’m not sure. If these mega-billionaires have so much money that they can launch rockets into space, maybe they could do something useful that benefits people like building hospitals or whatever. Anyhow, I find I’m becoming more cynical than I really want to be. I don’t have high hopes for the future especially given recent events.

I agree. Unfortunately, I think we're well beyond the point where hope it will get better is reasonable. It's only going to get worse, much worse, imo.
