I would reckon that to the last ounce of his trade protection, Trouba probably exercises that against Winnipeg above all else.

Really, i just very much doubt he'd be interested in leaving the US again. Probably not even leaving that general NYC to Northeast to Great Lakes sort of area.

Yeah there is no chance Trouba ever comes back to Winnipeg as a Jet. 15 team NTC and Winnipeg will be on it.

I'm sure he'd love to go back to Detroit and play with his Michigan buddies, and Detroit needs a player like him but I can't see Drury trading him in the East with the Rags being in a precarious playoff position early in the season.

I'd say the most interesting one is Vancouver and the ongoing saga with JT Miller, and Pettersson, who is a fan favourite, and the top dog in salary. While Vancouver might be on Trouba's no trade list, the chance to play with Tyler Myers again, and specifically to play for Tocchet, who likes a Zadorov type hitter on the backend, might be a good career move for him. Miller has a full NMC so if he asks to be traded behind closed doors it's to a team of his choice. And you'd think the Rangers would be a great opportunity for him to be the top dog, with Zibanajed and Trochek having full NMCs and neither showing top C potential early in the year. Opportunity to play with Panarin would be a significant move for the Rangers, Throw a 1st in, and the Canucks can look on the market for a 2C who could fit as a replacement, like Brock Nelson or Gino.

The other market I think Trouba would fit in is Dallas, who would probably like another Chris Tanev type to drive their defense again. Not really getting that with Dumba. Not really sure what the impact of Lybushkin has been, Dallas fans would have better input than me.

Assuming Trouba could be convinced into waiving his NTC for the Jets, what would the ask be from the Rangers to trade him to back the Jets? Note as part of this trade Rangers would also have to retain atleast 2.25 million to make his contract worth it for the other team.
He is NOT coming back to the Jets (or Canada for that matter).

I don't see Jets wanting Trouba back, even retained.

Zero chance Chevy, and most Jets fans, would want him back, so him waiving and what NYR would want is irrelevant.
Jets' fans have surely had more than enough of Jacob Trouba and his agent already.

It must have been a relief when the drama stopped.

Neil Pionk is not too bad, either.

Why would the Jets even want him back? He's not even great value with 2.25m retained.

doubt he'd be ok w/a return

IF he did, in theory we want best offer
for 2 yrs 2.25 min retained what do you offer?

The offer would be taking 5.75m x 2 years off your books.

The guy did everything in his power to leave here bro lol. The value of such a trade would be nothing, because thats how willing he would be to waive his NTC to come back here.

Trouba retained for a 7th is fine if there are no other (better) offers. I don't expect a huge haul, or even a small haul, but I do think 2-3 teams will consider him a sufficient fit to warrant some small but positive value

Over the summer I was thinking Trouba with some retention was worth two 2nds. If you wanted a higher retention percent, then it'd probably be a standard "throw in that 4th round pick" situations. It is 1+ years as opposed to a TDL situation though. Would prefer a 2025 2nd included which the Jets do not have.

Lyubushkin is doing exactly what Dallas brought him in to do. Dumba on the other hand is garbage. The issue is Dallas can’t fit Trouba’s cap hit. So I don’t see a match.
