When will people get it to their heads that whenever the head is the main point of contact it is never a clean hit
Great check. Keep head up and this won’t happen. Drop head and it’s bad news. No aren’t by Trouba to hit head. 100% on Baron. He needs to keep his head up.

It's a clean hit by the book. And at some point maybe people have to start bitching about the book, instead of players playing by it...

Open ice hitting will eventually be banned from the NHL, but we are not there yet.
They made a rule specifically for this type of hit. It's at least. 2 min clear as day.
Principal point of contact is the head.

Just like many other rules sometimes they apply it sometimes they don't. The book isn't the issue here.

My guy, there's 100's of play like that a game that a player doesn't have his head f***ing rung by a shoulder.
Exactly! Players need to skate upright with their heads up. Barron has his head down there. It’s right at contact level. Head up means more than just being aware. It also means literally keeping your head up and not in the zone where contact occurs. This is not the responsibility of the player delivering a hit. It’s the responsibility of the player carrying the puck.

Barron needs to keep his head up there, looked like a 9 year old iPad kid
He skated the puck up from just outside his blue line. Should have seen who was defending him. Saucers a back hand and isn’t prepared to protect himself vs a known hitter in Trouba.

What?

It is EXACTLY the responsability of the guy delivering the hit to not target the head, wherever it is.

EXACTLY like the high stick penalty, you are responsible for your stick, wherever the other guy is on the ice

The responsibility of the the hitter is to go through the body. It has nothing to do to with high sticking. Go watch golf.

Sorry but you’re 100% wrong. In the national league the responsibility to keep their head up is on the player. If a player has their head down while carrying the puck then this will happen. A clean hit will be delivered and the guys head will be in the h contact zone. Barron had his head up there and this is just one of the many collisions that happen. But he has his head down in the contact zone. So he gets hurt. His own fault.
