Trading a guy right after giving him a long term deal would significantly kill Dubas'/Pittsburghs rep with player agents.

Hush with your logic and truth.

No point the Pens giving up Carter. He’s still a very useful player in the bottom 6 and can fill in on the top 6 when injuries happen.

I think you're a bit out of date there. He looked absolutely cooked last year.

Can’t see them trading him as they have given him a long term deal.

Yeah there really isn't any precedence for that happening, which makes this an entirely flawed idea to begin with. Any notion of Gibson to Pittsburgh went out the window when they signed that Jarry contract. They aren't carrying $12M worth of goalies or moving a guy they literally just signed.

The Ducks made a couple moves that should help them hopefully be a little less futile defensively, and with that the rumblings about Gibson wanting out, seemed to dissipate. If he can hold down the fort for one more year of growing pains, I think most can agree there's some light at the end of the tunnel for the franchise. Things should start to turn around, even if only gradually.

Hopefully the Pens new addition helps spark a big run for them this season. They don't need a better goalie than Jarry, if their core stays healthy.
