Got a clean bill of health from the doctor on my 2 week follow up. My numbers stabilized and I don’t need to see any specialists :)

I got very lucky because had I waited until the morning, I would have needed surgery and could have permanently damaged my kidney.

I do have to be careful about eating too much of foods that are high in oxalates (chocolate, spinach, grains, nuts, black tea) but as long as I manage that and drink at least 64oz of water daily I am good to go.

Liquid IV electrolyte powder is ok for me to drink so it will be great to drink water with that when I travel so I won’t get dehydrated.

The doctor said protein powder as long as it is not soy based is also fine which is huge since I’ve been wanting to restart meal replacement smoothies again.

I have an Iphone 6s. I've seen similar warnings. The 6s will still work but I decided it was time for an upgrade anyway and my carrier offered monthly bill credits totalling $400 on a trade in to upgrade when I think that Apple says that the 6s is worth about $30. So I have a shiny new Iphone 13 sitting on my desk waiting for me to transfer my stuff from the 6s.

I think you may be the first person I've "met" that doesn't like mashed potatoes. I guess it's a texture thing?

When I was a kid, I hated for my food to touch. My brother would dump turkey, gravy, potatoes, corn, and stuffing all together on his plate and it always grossed me out.

But today I can eat a KFC famous bowl with chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, and cheese and together with no problem. :dunno:

Exactly!

Long story short…..I never loved them as a kid, but I could eat them once in a while to get released from the 1970’s kitchen table.

The night before surgery when I was 11, my mom begged me to eat because she knew I wouldn’t be eating again for a day or two.

As luck would have it mashed potatoes were served in the hospital that night and given how much pain I was in, I got very sick and haven’t been able to eat them or similar textured foods since,

In high school our Spanish teacher took our class to a Mexican restaurant. Back in those days we didn't go out to eat very often at all, and definitely not for Mexican food. So I had no idea what to order. Looked at the menu, decided a beef burrito sounded pretty safe.

I got sick as a dog that night. I'll spare you the gory details but I couldn't even look at a sign for Taco Bell without getting queasy for a looooong time

Family is good, number two arrived last month, another little girl so I'm completely outnumbered now lol. Hectic but great times.

Yeah Ireland are playing well, I often wondered if I would ever see us beat the All Blacks and now we've beaten them three out of the last five!! Crazy. This time though we are fully aware of the fact that unless we produce this sort of form in a WC it will ultimately account for little so no one is getting carried away. These games are always tough for the southern hem teams traveling north nevermind throwing covid into the mix as well so I wouldn't read too much into these results.

Anyway hope all is well down your way. My sister in law and hubby have decided to move back home next year after 15+ years in Sydney. Be interesting to see how their kids transition seeing as they were born there. They better not declare for Oz if they are good with the oval ball!

Wow, time flies. Well congratulations, that's very exciting!!

Can't really blame your sister-in-law and her family for moving back to Ireland. Some of the nonsense that has happened in Aus the last couple of years, if I viably had someone place else nice to go to I'd be very tempted. Otherwise I'm doing ok thanks. Work is busy, and we're just waiting for warm weather to finally decide to arrive so we can actually make the most of living on the coast. And Christmas is on its way whether we're ready for it or not. At least that also means this bizarre year is drawing to a close and perhaps we actually get back out into the world in 2022. That would be nice!

Like I mentioned wifey was princess for a day. Reminded me or Morticia mixed with Jessica Rabbit.

I'll start with this --- I know I'm in the vast, vast minority on this -- but I dread Thanksgiving dinner --- I like turkey -- after that --- rolls, maybe. I won't eat anything mashed, (potatoes, stuffing, squash, turnip -- etc. all make me nauseous). So TG usually consists of turkey, maybe a baked potato, a roll or two and some green beans.

Given the above --- guess how happy I was about this turn of events --

We usually eat at my wife's aunt and uncles. This year they decided to go away over TG, but ---- they're going to have a TG dinner on Dec. 4th -- so we can "all celebrate together".
(correct me if I'm wrong here Diane, but we'd all be together if you didn't go away next weekend ---:laugh:)

Yay.

Now I get to suffer through two versions of my least liked holiday and one of them smack dab in the middle of a Saturday in December.

Lol.

Family.
I don't eat any potatoes (even fries) . I don't eat squash or turnips either. I like stuffing if it is made well (no cheerios in it) . I love turkey though.

@GahdenRinkRat lives in JP and she and her hubby do the cooking. I bake a carrot nut cake and apple pie.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I like spending time with my small family.

This is my first year that I am not working so it is even better. Less rush and stress.

I'm making my mashed potatoes, stuffing, and carrots before heading into the office for a meeting this afternoon. Off tomorrow through the end of the week.

Incredibly thankful for a job that is flexible and cares more about your performance than butts in seats time.

It will be a small Thanksgiving this year, but I still go all out. My husband jokes that I don't know how to cook for 5 or fewer people for holidays (true). Leftovers are necessary.

haven't cooked for more than 5 people for years . I am happy to be able to get together with my small family after last year. Spent Thanksgiving with my neighbor last year and spent Christmas with my 2 cats. It was my first Christmas alone so this year will be better !

@Kate08 ..Nothing better than day after turkey sandwiches !

Last year I made leftover pizza which was a huge hit. Just store bought dough, gravy as the "sauce", turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and mozzarella. it was so good.

Also did a crescent "ring". Laid out triangles of crescent dough in a circle so there was a hole in the middle. layered potatoes, stuffing, turkey on top and then folded the crescent dough over. put a bowl of gravy in the middle for dipping. Also a huge post-thanksgiving come over and eat leftover party hit.

great to hear, hope it all keeps trending in the right direction

I`m currently on light duties, injured my lower back at work, was put on a few different medications to alleviate the pain/discomfort. Was at the doctor and I almost forgot to make him aware of my addiction history as he was about to prescribe a narcotic as one of the meds, not wise with me, waaaaaaaaaaaay too risky , doesn`t matter that it`s been almost 17 years since my last drug and drink, I`m still an addict.

Been off work a few days now which I hate but is necessary

Go to left overs sandwich is turkey, stuffing and gravy on toasted stuffing bread. Just make sure to buy a couple loaves of it, cut it thick and it's the best for holding all pieces together
