Blues don’t need Frederic. He doesn’t seem to be very good at center and he’s fairly redundant with Neighbors. We have wings that will play center. We need a center to play center.

Virtually 0 reason to move Bolduc with him unless Bostons management and coaching staff are missing something that the Blues can see. Which I find very unlikely given who our coach is.

Also 0 reason to extend him for 3-4m AAV. He’d likely be relegated to the 4th line or block space for Bolduc/Snugg on the wing that we’re running out of. Schenn also needs to move to the wing.

NYI might be interested if they sell Brock Nelson.

Pageau will be coming off the books at the end of next season as well too (if he’s not traded sooner) and Danny Nelson is a few years away (if he even makes it at all).

They will need a middle six center to play behind Barzal and Horvat.

Wondering if there is a trade that could be made where the Bruins swap a more physical player for a more skilled player.

Frederic had 18 goals last year playing 13:45, 17 the year before. He's likely to get 20 goals and 200 hits next year. $2.3m cap hit. Kills penalties.

Not looking to get a star, just wondering if there's a team that's skill heavy that could use a different type of player in the middle of their lineup.
Jeff Skinner? A bit of a gamble, but you have to admit, he fits the bill as a skilled scoring winger.

A second rounder that is a conditional first if a team goes to the SCF and B-Level prospect, one who will be a 4th liner or 5-6 DMan with limited offense.

Yeah if I was Boston I would be saying 1st or 2 2nds right now, but this isn’t unreasonable. I also think if this is what is out there, the Bruins would probably be trying to take a run at signing Frederic instead.

Deadline deal waiting to happen. I can see the Devils or wild taking a swing at him.

Bolduc and a 3rd from STL
it's the confident "and a 3rd" which is getting the replies. you'd get almost universal no on a simple Bolduc for Frederic, if for no other reason than Frederic is done developing, Bolduc isn't, and today Bolduc is already more valuable. so "and a 3rd" was a guaranteed bait.

you're already pushing a birthplace player on us. we are supposed to want players raised near the franchise more than we want the average player, and thus pay more to get them

Islanders could be a trade partner for Boston. Sweeney is definitely trying to make the playoffs, the Jacobs want nothing else. New York has some good players apparently on the market.

I'm not sure Frederic is a player Sweeney doesn't want on his playoff roster. I would not be shocked if Trent were traded. But it would be for an NHL player that can immediately help the Bruins.

Unlikely Frederic is a 4th liner on the Blues.....
