Andrei Kuzmenko's his name, 50% retained makes you game. Comes with one deluxe Tyson Barrie absolutely free.
So the Bruins trade their UFA to be who supposedly has value around the league, and get a UFA to be with less points and who at 50% still costs more than Frederic for this year. What about that makes any sense? And I'm not even a Frederic fan all that much.

does boston want futures for him or someone that can help them this season that might be open to an extension ?

I agree with the other poster that mentions Frederic likely seeks Andrew Copp type contract .

spreading out the dynamic of the roster I'd guess .

Kastelic kinda brings the Frederic element to some degree

How does that help the Blues? Bolduc has been really good and part of their future. Young and cost controlled and Frederick is a UFA.
Well Frederic would obviously be resigned by the Blues, considering its his hometown it should be pretty easy. Frederic can pay center and gives you the same amount of production you are getting out of Bolduc now but much more physicality/toughness.

Blues also have Snuggerud likely joining by the end of the year and Dvorsky not too far behind. They nailed Holloway. Neighbours is a great piece in their top six. They also have Thomas, Kyrou, Buchnevich, Schenn all locked up long term.

They got a lot of young talent and only so many top six spots. Frederic would be a very valuable 3rd liner for them.

Have to give to get

I think most fans would say futures. I think the GM wants to make the playoffs, which is why I doubt they trade him.

Bolduc and a 3rd from STL
They probably don't need to add but as a base I think this works
easy pass for me
He had more points than Tom Wilson last year and two less than Lawson Crouse...and they both get top six minutes

He's a legit middle six power forward

If you think he's going to make it to FA, then you will be mistaken. If it's not the Bruins then he's going to be sent somewhere else with an extension likely in place.

If Frederick came extended, I’d consider Bolduc, but I’m not adding anything. I’m happy with Bolduc’s play. Looks like a 25g scorer, plays hard, adds some feistiness, relativity responsible in his own end. Going to be a real good player.

I'm not moving Bolduc for Frederic, if anything we just try to sign him in the offseason. No point in adding him now, even if he was extended I wouldn't move Bolduc for him though. Bolduc seems like a keeper and Frederic isn't much more than a bottom 6 guy, I like him but not really a need at the moment.

Wondering if there is a trade that could be made where the Bruins swap a more physical player for a more skilled player.

Frederic had 18 goals last year playing 13:45, 17 the year before. He's likely to get 20 goals and 200 hits next year. $2.3m cap hit. Kills penalties.

Not looking to get a star, just wondering if there's a team that's skill heavy that could use a different type of player in the middle of their lineup.
The Lightning would love him for the bottom 6, but not sure they would trade him to a divison rival under any circumstance/

Trading for Frederic right now makes little sense for the blues. Maybe if he is available in the Summer we go after him in FA but don't see the point in getting him now.

Yeah aside from where Frederic was born, STL isn’t really a great fit. I guess Monty loves Freddy, but Frederic seems more like an add for a contending skill team that wants to add a different element. That sounds more like a Jersey, Carolina, etc kind of move than a STL kind of move.
