There are plenty of comps for him at $1.5. I gave like 4 of them in the other thread when Dom asked. You're just too close to this player for some reason and can't be objective about him in the least, which is hilarious to me.
They were laughable comps. Kurashev just got $2.5M (and I know it can’t be used) and you think Freddy should be sub $2M. You’re just too far to this player for some reason and can’t be objective about him in the least, which is hilarious to me.

No, I’m being realistic. He’s had one season that is wildly different than all his others. You don’t want to call it an anomaly yet that’s what it is until he does it consistently. Like I said, you can’t accept reality for whatever reason. The Bruins will most assuredly be pointing out this difference in the hearing too.

tampa signed conor sheary for 3 years 6 mill. Fred should be less than that as he's never proven anything

Should be no more than $1.5 but will probably end up $2 or $2.25. Bruins kind of screwed themselves by giving Geekie $2 mill per and he's a fair comp total number wise, even if he's been more consistent with his production over his career and Freddy's all came in one anomaly of a season.

I think you just made the case he should get slightly less than geekie and with your own assertion of 1.5 maybe the mysterious ways of the universe will land him at 1.75

I see many here believe he'll get two.

I had him at 1.5.

Whatever he gets, he does not deserve 2. He barely deserves 1.5.

Someone posted, "Did he even play tonight?"

The guy is a ghost, until he proves otherwise. This is it.

Arbitration must suck. Like you have to go into a room and listen to your GM make a legal case for why you don't deserve much money because you suck and are worse than other comparables, then after it's settled you have to go out there and play for the team that said that shit about you.

Well he's going for $ right, otherwise he'd have signed a deal?

Can I answer nothing? Because I don't think the Bruins will, nor should, retain Frederic. He's done nothing to earn another contract with the Bruins.

Hope he takes a 1 year cheapish show me again deal prior to the hearing, if he close to duplicates last year results then he deserves a pay bump and some term...if not, send him packing at trade deadline

No coincidence that the two young NHL regulars they scratched in the playoffs are the two left playing hardball in negotiations. The team showed them what their opportunities are here and how they're valued as spare parts. Why would they do the organization any favors when it's time to sit down and negotiate the future of their careers?

They both know other organizations out there probably value their game more than Boston does, would pay them more for it and would slot them in better opportunities than playoff scratches.

The ignorance to say that someone who just scored 17 goals in his age 24 season with no power play time has done nothing to earn a contract is stunning. Almost as stunning as people saying he doesn’t deserve $1.5M. Unbelievable.

On the bright side it’s like an 80% minimum raise on your previous contract so can’t be too bad lol.

If Swayman comes in down the middle as expected, it leaves about $2 million for Frederic. However, they have some flexibility by going with a 22-man roster and sending a d-man down to Providence. My guess would be Mitchell because Zboril can play both sides.
