I would like to see him get going. Last night was pretty typical of his game this season, though. He did have a couple of decent moments, but for the most part he is just there. He seems to just float around most shifts these days. I say seems because it's different watching on TV than at ice level and from a coach's perspective. That said, what is he actually bringing to the team on a nightly basis right now? Maybe he needs a few games off to reset. McLaughlin can go in for him. Freddy is a better player (when he's going) but McLaughlin will bring energy and effort at least.

He needs some top six time imo. Right side of Marchand and Lindy.

That's just if they want production from him. Right now it seems like they see him a a reliable player to pair with projects on line 3 while they experiment with the top 6 to generate some primary scoring.

I'm not Frederick fan but I'd keep him for $3-4M x 4 with a very limited NMC. IMO he is worth more in trade value in 1-2 years down line on a reasonable contract with term if we want to cut ties. Although, while in a Bs uniform I hope he starts being what we all think and want him to be ...I'm tired of flashes of his potential, he's got too many games under his belt to be this inconsistent compete wise. He needs to go an Aaron Roger's type hallucinogenic holiday in the forest and find his hockey spirit animal....let's hope it's a Bear ...not a wild turkey

40 points in the regular season is good and all but when he disappears come playoff time every year, that’s where my issue with the player comes in.

Last playoffs he scored 1 goal less than Pasta and as much as Marchy.
