Travis Green [Head Coach]

The fact that Highmore, a fringe AHL player, is in the lineup at all at this time of the year is lunacy and we were bound to pay for it dearly.

However, putting on the ice vs Larkin right after a flat PP in a pivotal game is grade D coaching. Between him and Hamonic, it's like Green WANTS to make it more difficult to win than it has to be. Focus on Highmore next time he's on the ice. It's inexcusable.
There’s only 12 forwards currently available

About game 8 he said “just because you don’t play well doesn’t mean you lose the game. You won’t have your best every night but you can still win games”

Lesson learned - coach has these guys playing the best regular season hockey I’ve seen since Bryan Murray was the coach

Hammer specifically signed his deal so that he wouldn’t have to uproot his family, and I doubt he would never go back to Vancouver since he left in badish terms.

The best bet is to have him as 7th dman, for the rest of the season.
I remember reading awhile back that one of his kids has a medical condition that is being treated at T.O. hospital so the only other destination that is close and in Canada is TML. Just hope he isn't re-signed for next season as Green will continue using him whenever he can.

So let's hope the leafs sign him! Win-win.

Maybe he'll sign with the Leafs. Treliving really likes those old geriatric defensemen.

Turning point of the game: With the game tied 3-3, Green goes right back to Highmore on the PK after his disastrous performance on the previous kill (and really, his disastrous performance on the season).

The team has played great this year, but Green's lack of game feel and adjustments has been subpar all season and is frankly concerning, heading into the playoffs.

Another example is the 1st line that looked anemic all game, yet the coach waited until we were down 4-3 with 5 mins left in the game to adjust and move Zetterlund up to the top line.

Overall, not a big deal, but this was one of the most complacent and disappointing loss of the season. The team came out flat, with several player looking outright drunk and that's inexcusable.

Get Highmore out of here, demote Giroux, swap Hamonic for Jensen, tell Green it's not forbidden to make in-game adjustments. There's absolutely no reason why we should be down 0-3 in the season series vs the Montreal Canadiens. We're the better team, but simply haven't played, nor been coached like it.

IMO we should use Amadio on the PK over Highmore.
Giroux and Amadio don’t have great speed so not sure about them together. I also have no idea how much Green factors handedness into his PK pairings but it might be worth noting Highmore is a lefty so that might be why he is being used with Giroux now that Norris is gone.

With Pinto in the box, Cozens (another righty) took his place. He looked good too.

I don’t think using Highmore on the PK is really a knock on Green. It’s more of a personnel issue.

Ullmark has to take some responsibility.

His rebound control was not good all night. He wasn't tracking the puck well and left a lot to clean up right in front of him.

Even when he’s playing well, I find rebound control to be his weakness.

His game against Detroit was perhaps his best in that regard. He was tracking the puck and directing rebounds away from danger areas or having the puck just absorb into him.

We need him to get rolling again for us to establish our playoff spot. It would be great if he could get some rest before then, too.
