Looks like we are bringing a good team, outside of maybe the goalies.. But, that was to be expected with Korpi/Forsberg basically graduating from performance the last couple years and Merzlikins/Dansk in Europe with Thome being in the USHL and NCAA making it an attendance issue.

Dubois dominating this tournament is pretty crucial if he's trying to prove he's ready. If his off ice confidence transitions to his on ice play I don't think he'll have any problems.

I wonder why Milano is on the roster and Bjorkstrand is not. When I attended the TC event last year Bjorkstrand and Bittner were magic together. Maybe a "prospect" can only attend so many times. OB was a 13 draft - Milano was a 14 draft.

I disagree. How he plays, good or bad, has nothing to do with proving if he is ready, IMO. It is a small tournament. It would be nice if he played well, and I expect him to play well, but it isn't a big deal if he doesn't.

I think that is about right, from top to bottom, except Kolesar should have a very big role. I would think he might have the ability to play top line minutes in this tournament. Not that I disagree with much, I could just see Kolesar and Bittner being the big guys on their respective lines in the top 6.

The team looks really good outside of goaltending, but that could be very hit or miss for most teams - especially coming out of summer.

3 Key players from the Monsters championship team - Werenski, Milano, Heatherington that need to have big tournaments.

If he doesn't stand out from a bunch of non-nhl ready prospects (aside from Werenski) than he doesn't stand a chance of making it

I'm not sure if this tournament can really show us that much besides telling us which guys have improved their physiques, skating, and skills over the summer. It's not really pivotal unless this is a players best opportunity to do that, and some of these guys have AHL jobs lined up and/or will get NHL pre-season games to show off.

So I'd agree that Heatherington (skating) and Milano (strength) need to show us something more, but they're going to be in the AHL at minimum anyways. For some of the invites this tournament is a bigger deal.

As for CBJP's lines, I agree with coach that the 4th line is a weird place to put Kolesar. He could be better than all those wingers, for all we know.

Him dominating junior/NCAA/European prospects around his age is expected, that's why he was drafted where he was. This has no impact on his chances with Columbus, bad tournament or great tournament.

There are informal rules limiting the number of veterans. It changes each year, and there usually is some flexibility. Bjork's a player that could potentially make the NHL, while Milano is a player who still needs development.
