I heard Luchanko has been excellent in camp. He was one of my picks in this year's fantasy keeper draft, so I've been paying attention.
There's another facet of life that this should directly translate too, that can't be mentioned in this thread, but follows the same rationale! Nice post!

It’s hard to take Montreal fans seriously about Hutson when they have been wrong about their lottery picks:
2023 - reinbacher instead of michkov
2022 - slaf instead of cooley
2018 - kotkaniemi instead of tkachuk

Aside from the obvious, and quite overstated/boring, "Hutson /thread" answers.
I'd say that both Oliver Kapanen and Owen Beck have been standouts in their own way for Montreal through the rookie camp, prospect tournament, inter-squad scrimmages, and now their respective first games of preseason.
Both players showed well offensively, but have also been extremely solid defensively thus far (moreso Beck, with premium PK play against the Devils tonight).
Aside from that, I'd say that Florian Xhekaj has also showed well with his physical play and quickness as a big-bodied 4th-line center for us. But he has been less impressive than Beck/Kapanen, and obviously Hutson.
So yeah, that's about it for the Canadiens so far.

I have to say...being a scout myself some worries ......the Reinbacher over Michkov, i have to say when i was watching i thought montreal was going to call Michkov but I think they made a decision where Russians where so unkown at that time and not sure how hard it would be to get them over, i think they went safer route.....
Slaf was actually rated by many as the 1st overall guy, not sure what he has done to indicate Cooley is better pick so far? actually Slafkovsky had a better season than Cooley last year, sure Cooley is more show time but I actually think Slafkkovsky is better, he plays smarter and more methodical than Cooley.
I can not explain the Kotkaniemi over Tkachuk....at the time it was stupid...but worse they could have had Quinn Hughes or Dobson

I’m not the biggest fan of Lane Hutson but he’s looking like the real deal. He’s definitely the stand out so far and has a shot at the calder.

People next year are going to say that Coronato and Honzek are the Hutson of the forward group in Calgary.

Cristall wasn't as good as he was in game 1 (but that's a really high bar, because he was great in game 1), but he had a nice goal at the end. He has half of the Caps goals in the preseason.

Almost forgot this was a general prospects thread as I was reading it 
Another Habs fan chiming in, besides Hutson, Oliver Kapanen has looked incredible in his first game. The guy was imo the best player on the ice (better than Hutson), super impressive how poised he was in his first game on the smaller North American ice. His SHL coach (Olli Jokinen) says he'd be among the top SHL players if he didn't make the Habs but he doesn't expect him to be coming back, he's too good for that league.

Sadly nothing that leans a certain way can be discussed anymore and because of that there's so much misinformation sadly.
Time will tell if he's able to produce, I'm not so sure but anyone comparing him to Quinn or the fact that Quinn defended well enough to win a Norris so Lane will be fine are way off imo.
Quinns actually like 35+ pounds heavier and isn't skinny, he can win his fair share of puck battles. He's also just a better skater and when you are on the smaller side you almost have to be an elite skater and process the game a step ahead.
Quinn also was much further ahead in college defensively than what Lane was.
Quinn had a rough season in the bubble, playing on a shit team with no help playing #97 11 times out of 56 games didn't help lol.
Don't get me wrong he struggled and is miles better now but he was miles ahead of where Lane is now.
His defenders get all mad when he's criticized but tbf when they use Quinn and Makar as comps its fair to call that out.
Based on what? There are far to many red flags with him.
Lekkerimakki and Raty were excellent tonight. Totally different players but both showed a glimpse of what's to be.
Lekkerimakki is known for his scoring, even dubbed a one trick pony but since the prospect tourney, camp and then tonight, he's shown he's far more than that. Kids got that it factor.
But for me as someone who has been touting Raty since we traded for him, it's been obvious since rookie camp that he's taken a big jump since an already good season last year where he took big strides.
He played in every situation, was 14-18 on the dot had an assist and a crossbar but it was his play away from the puck that stood out. He's faster, knows where to be in all three zones.
The nucks are a deep team, especially in the bottom six , there's more of a path for Lekkerimakki but both making the team when at full health, would mean two of Sprong, Sherwood, Bleuger, Suter-, Hoglander, Heinen getting scratched.
