Wallstedt stopped 39 of 41 shots last night, and looked calm doing it. No flopping around, and his anticipation and control going side to side was noticeably better than in the past - i think he is getting stronger, making for better push offs. Also was guarding against bad angle shots better, which was a weakness in the past.

Final GA was in the last seconds off a botched D zone FO coverage by the Wild, so he was something like 1 goal on 40 shots till the final minute.

Otherwise, no one looked great for MN. Daemon Hunt and Chisholm looked competent. Bankier, too. Lauko was a decent energy guy. Lambos was up and down. Ritchie just looks way too young for this level.

Besides Iafallo and Villardi, who you'd expect to be good, Yager looked ok... still needs more strength, but you can see that he's a smart, skilled player. Namestnikov looked vg. Chibrokov a bit less so, but still one of the better players on the ice. I liked Barron at times, and Barlow scored on a fast shot release. Salomonsson looked good at times...he's got talent. Lambert - you can see the skill and tools. Liked Julien as low down in the line up, big bodied, grinder. Sadly, Shaw looked slow. all of those knee injuries are taking speed away from a guy who didn't have it to lose.

For the Canucks rookies Lekkerimaki has been the standout on a line with Pettersson and DeBrusk. EP2 on D has also looked solid.

I was surprised to see Puljujarvi get a hattrick. Pens fans can elaborate how he's looked the rest of camp.

Lambert is getting a look in the top 6, was okay in the first preseason game.

Yager really impressed me last night, seemed like he was always in position to break up plays and get pucks. Probably destined to be in juniors again though.

Mateychuk looks like he's picking up exactly where he left off this past season.

Brindley looks like he's ready to steal a spot out of camp

LDBB looks like he's ready to get heavy 1C minutes in Cleveland for a year or two

I think Jiricek needs another season or two in Cleveland to fill out and calm his game down a little bit.

Grebenkin is already a fan favourite. Skilled and gritty. Dropped the gloves with Gaudette.

I like his game tonight. Looks to be the type of player you boys have needed for a minute.

Carter Yakemchuk looked pretty great and has some tools that look translatable. Gonna need a bit of work on his skating mechanics as his roving like style will lead to a few issues but overall got a good vibe for this lad

Yakemchuk looked fantastic. He's gonna be good. Jenik looks like a player too.
