Well they've got one in there in Byfield, for one. And depending on location (net front?)I'd suggest Andersson. But I don't particularly care, he's a smart enough and gritty enough guy to be a bumper role or at the net front, and I don't see any harm in trying new things. It was more of just a general observation around his skillset.

Assuming Byfield is a King on opening night, sure. And we complain about Danault's career PP points, but Andersson has 15 total career pts.

And of course you don't want to say a guy should be put somewhere where he isn't used correctly, but $33m over 6 years can't have all been spent for PK time. Unless Byfield is ready to produce.

It's not so much what you said but how you said it.

I don't think talking down to other fans with that venom is a good strategy but hey, you do you.

You should know that fans are overly passionate by nature. Most don't have a clue what they are watching or talking about it. Some prefer to pound on the glass and yell, "Shoot it!" every chance they get... hence why we need insiders like you.

On a personal note, I always enjoy your podcasts and certainly respect your work and often times comedic approach to the subject.

The lesson of your Sunday...? Don't let fans remember you on your worst day. Remind them how great it feels to be a fan of a hockey team because of that fleeting moment their silly team won their first cup in 45 years.

Grade...? C+ You'll shoot your eye out! Now move along kid I have more papers to grade.

well now I'm just gonna feel guilty all week...

but this is precisely why I try not to say that much. I spent decades being a lunatic fan engaging in all kinds of meaningless conversations and absurd speculation and the person I imagine myself to be would never look down on anybody else who enjoys that past time.

We are all Kings and such

I heard Danault was going to take some of Kopi’s Dzone assignments and be his chauffeur for home games. So it’s way more than just PK time. After dealing with LA traffic, any points are a bonus.

Like I had posted last game. I finally got to turn into the 3rd period of the last game and we gave up a goal in 18 seconds. Then gave up another several minutes later before we even had a shot. Talk about a total let down! Hope there is some good hockey played tonight.

I find myself channeling my inner Jonathan Quick, a la the Stanley Cup celebration. "Are you guys ready for the f___ing game tonight?" "How about these f____ing guys?"

LOL.

I don't put much stock in the preseason but if THIS lineup can't score and put up gaudy possession numbers then we are in deep shit.
That first line could be brutal. Arvidsson is an opportunist, not a worker. I fear we will see a whole lot of one and dones on entry with the occasional breakaway, but very little sustained possession out of that combo.

Feel bad for Turcotte. The rest of the top end of his draft class will have full time duties this year and I am worried he is stuck in an unfortunate logjam of good Kings prospects. Over-marinating at this stage.

I agree and think Iafallo should be on that first line.

Iafallo - Kopitar - Arvidsson
Kempe - Danault - Brown
Andersson - Vilardi - Tkachev
Lemieux - Byfield - Moore

Could even potentially swap Brown and Moore, but I don't want Byfield stuck with Brown!

But what did Danault ever do to deserve that?

I like Kale Clague just fine but my goodness the amount of conversation both good and bad for what amounts to a guy taken 51st overall is insane.

The Kings didn't have first round picks in 2015, 2016 and then Vilardi wasn't really available to critique as a first round pick in 2017... it's not Clague's fault that after Cernak was traded he was the highest profile prospect in a three year window.

He's fine. He's not a bust and he's not a savior. Let the dude have a career. Yeesh.

I agree. Unfortunately, that's Dean's fault.

Jesus Christ. A Coyote has already taken out the linesman and he is done. Guess he didn't accept the check...
