So the Debbies claimed Mason G ay?
He's gonna fight Reaves this season.

I'm having a headache as it is from knowing Kreider will continue to be on the first unit (yeah granted, he's pretty good in that role, just feel Kakko could be better), but Strome? For god’s sake, put Laf or Kakko on the right side as a shooting threat (yeah Kakko not so much shooting but he can pass from there).
I mean there should be three guys who are locked on the first PP no matter what: Panarin (left side), Fox (the blueline), and Zibanejad in the center. I can to an extent accept Kreider as the net-man, he's pretty good with redirections and is a big guy to move from the net. But there's no excuse to put Strome on the right side ahead of Lafreniere who could shoot from there, or Kakko who could make plays from there. Not like Strome is there taking the face-offs either.Another season without Kakko or Laf on pp1? What a joke.
As a Colorado fan as well, my response is Landeskog. But Kreider is pretty good, so in the end I'm fine with having Kreider out there.Kreider may be the best in the league in that role on the PP. This is where he should be playing.
Take Strome off of it though.

Agreed. I would say Laf should do better and earn his PP spot.I mean there should be three guys who are locked on the first PP no matter what: Panarin (left side), Fox (the blueline), and Zibanejad in the center. The only explanation I would be willing to accept is that Drury is telling Gallant to play Strome on #1PP so we can drive up his price to trade him at the deadline, but even that's just absurd.

Yes, they need to prove themselves.Another season? LOL
They've played a combined 3 seasons and have combined for 0.36 Pts/GP. Opportunity doesn't precede performance in the NHL. Ryan Strome, for all that's been said about him in that role, has produced in it. This was one of the dumbest criticisms of Quinn and it will be the dumbest criticisms of Gallant.
And no, because it's likely to start the season that way doesn't mean they won't get an opportunity throughout the season if they earn it.

Actually checked and I have to take it back, Kreider does indeed have more goals from tip ins than Landeskog (and more than everyone else for that matter) from 2016 onwards. Last 3 years, they are #2 (Kreider with 19) and #3 (Landeskog with 16) tip-in goals through the league. As a Colorado fan as well, my response is Landeskog. But Kreider is pretty good, so in the end I'm fine with having Kreider out there.

I'm sure the reactions will be reasonable.
Gallant also need time to know the players and be ready for the coming season.Totally fine with them starting off with this unit considering it's been mostly successful. I just hope when it inevitably runs into droughts that Gallant doesn't hesitate to shake it up.

What do faceoffs have to do with anything? Are Kakko and Lafreniere going to add value there? Strome was 51.43% on the PP last season, for what it's worth.Well I look at it the opposite way. I feel like if these kids are the studs we all believe they are (yes first and second overall picks and not just default 1/2 second overall picks...legit ones) and they can't sniff pp time over ryan strome who can't even win a faceoff on the pp then IDK what to say. I think if given a true chance on the pp a kid like Laf or Kakko can gain some confidence which will boost their overall offensive game. Has Caufield earned his pp time? Watch him produce on the pp with the extra space and time that benefits his skillset.
What I hated about the Rangers PP last year was that the first line was out there almost 2 minutes every time (at least when i watched the games)Totally fine with them starting off with this unit considering it's been mostly successful. I just hope when it inevitably runs into droughts that Gallant doesn't hesitate to shake it up.

No, Kreider is up with Lafreniere and Zibanejad still. Only change up front seems to be Hajek is now a lock for 4th line wing opening night.Have the 5v5 lines changed at all?
Mostly, Has Kreider been dropped from the top 6?
