No surprise here, but it's official.

I'm also happy Murray and Rifai cleared, but I really didn't think that there was much of a risk they wouldn't either. I like Rifai, but he isn't a player any NHL team is going to look at, and say that's a guy we need on our opening roster. Same with Murray right now.

Agreed. The waiver wire being fairly well-stocked with similar types also had to have been a further help in that regard.

That was a pretty well run camp and masterfully handled roster submission, no?

We didn't lose anyone at all. Two LTIR, two IR, one sent to junior, two cleared waivers to the Marlies, two PTO signed (one with a bonus), and $1 under the cap.

This gives us a chance to see what we have in real action before making trades and moves. The only "one-way door" was Cowan, he is down for the year and that's fine... everything else gives us flexibility.

Someone will get hurt and all of these cap gymnastics will cease.
