End of game ... empty net.

That's what I figured anyhow.
sounds like it is 5v5 if we are down late, worth a shot, look at how early people pull their goalies now, this started as a crazy idea... and to me this is the same kind of concept with less risk if your team makes a mistake

Shit... yeah read it after ... right on.

Can't hurt when they're looking for a tie

Oh, you mean Leafs standard PP formation and the 4 forwards and 1 dman that we see almost all teams use every game. :)
Pretty much right? I mean if the goalie is pulled we run 4 forwards anyways, so it’s hardly a big stretch, unless he runs 5?

Bogosian and Spezza were pretty effective for us on a dollar cost average.
Ya that Bogo was really awful for us. Facepalm.

Bogo isn't the type of player you gift a spot to if you have cup aspirations.

You're right that is hard to picture. ;)

Bogo is a fine #6 but nothing special, Dubas also tried to re-sign him, so way to go Dubas?

Now, I have a question for you, it looks like Bogo was scratched during that playoff run (unless he was injured but couldn't find an injury to make him miss 5 games).

I'd assume if he was scratched your opinion will change. You were critical of NAK and people saying he was just on a cup team because he was scratched, clearly, this would be the same here.

Bogo is a fine number 6 when you have a #1D to carry pairings 1 & 2 and an unstoppable offence lol.

Some of y'all live in the past.

Curious to hear the line up for tonight.

Yup. Gotta have commitment if they want to win.

I actually think the pressure is less this year. It's almost like we have accepted this team to be what it is. We didnt' get any big FA's, we didn't really make any big moves. The move with Murray is actually sideways even now. So we don't have added pressure from last year. Last year we apparently had a franchise best 113 points. Apparently that was the best Leafs ever

Someone like Florida has more pressure. They got rid of big names, they added big names

On top of that, why do we think we can win this year if we couldn't win last 3 years?
Is it because our opponents have gotten weaker? well we played Montreal. A weak of an opponent you are ever going to face and Columbus who simply had no star power

We played 5 different teams last 6 eyars and fell short.

This year leafs shou

If they don’t commit and sacrifice , they won’t win

I mean I wouldn't put Spezza with those guys. Spezza was a nice player for us
I would agree up until the last season. I thought Spezza really took a step back in the 2nd half of last year.

Our 4th line was pretty unplayable.

Will be amazing to have ZAR-Kampf-NAK taking 4th line shifts this year.

It's annoying because on paper a combo of Kase/Blackwell/Spezza is great talent to have on a 4th line, but in reality it's 3 right wingers with no real center and none of them great shakes defensively either and what should have been an advantage turned into a liability.

Bogosian and Spezza were pretty effective for us on a dollar cost average.

true, but that's still two bottom-roster slots locked into vets that the kids couldn't compete for.
