I mean I wouldn't put Spezza with those guys. Spezza was a nice player for usit helps that we aren't gifting spots to old guys like Spezza, Thornton, Simmonds, Bogosian this time.

I agree with thatfor sure...as a 4th liner - but having those guys taking up the bottom spots while we were bang up against the cap made it pretty hard for any kids to break through.
End of game ... empty net.Is Sheldon Keefe trying Marner on the blueline 5v5 or is that fake news ?
sounds like it is 5v5 if we are down late, worth a shot, look at how early people pull their goalies now, this started as a crazy idea... and to me this is the same kind of concept with less risk if your team makes a mistakeEnd of game ... empty net.
That's what I figured anyhow.

Oh, you mean Leafs standard PP formation and the 4 forwards and 1 dman that we see almost all teams use every game.Might work, JT, Matthews, Bill up front, Mitch and Reilly back.
Pretty much right? I mean if the goalie is pulled we run 4 forwards anyways, so it’s hardly a big stretch, unless he runs 5?Oh, you mean Leafs standard PP formation and the 4 forwards and 1 dman that we see almost all teams use every game.![]()
Ya that Bogo was really awful for us. Facepalm.Bogosian and Spezza were pretty effective for us on a dollar cost average.
Bogo isn't the type of player you gift a spot to if you have cup aspirations.Ya that Bogo was really awful for us. Facepalm.
I think in Tampa he would have to earn a spot.Edit, I see Mess already posted the cup pictures, so I’ll delete.

Poor Minten.
Yup. Gotta have commitment if they want to win.
If they don’t commit and sacrifice , they won’t winI actually think the pressure is less this year. It's almost like we have accepted this team to be what it is. We didnt' get any big FA's, we didn't really make any big moves. The move with Murray is actually sideways even now. So we don't have added pressure from last year. Last year we apparently had a franchise best 113 points. Apparently that was the best Leafs ever
Someone like Florida has more pressure. They got rid of big names, they added big names
On top of that, why do we think we can win this year if we couldn't win last 3 years?
Is it because our opponents have gotten weaker? well we played Montreal. A weak of an opponent you are ever going to face and Columbus who simply had no star power
We played 5 different teams last 6 eyars and fell short.
This year leafs shou
I would agree up until the last season. I thought Spezza really took a step back in the 2nd half of last year.I mean I wouldn't put Spezza with those guys. Spezza was a nice player for us

Our 4th line was pretty unplayable.
Will be amazing to have ZAR-Kampf-NAK taking 4th line shifts this year.
