I really, really hope not. In a short season with so many games its gonna be very difficult for him to work his way outta the doghouse.

Yep it looks like Johnson is being given a shot to win time on the 1st pair. Can't be any other explanation. The Cup is ours!

Think they are just giving Johnson a fair shake at camp by giving him a competent partner. But if Miller exceeds all expectations and ends up on the top pair with Trouba, i guess the backup is to have the 3rd pair as JJ/ADA.

Figured Shest would get a lot of work tonight, offense stacked in the other teams favor.

Think they are just giving Johnson a fair shake at camp by giving him a competent partner. But if Miller exceeds all expectations and ends up on the top pair with Trouba, i guess the backup is to have the 3rd pair as JJ/ADA.

No doubt the best thing that could happen is Miller jumps in on day 1 and can handle playing on the 1st pairing. That would be solve so many issues for the Rangers. Tall task but maybe, just maybe, Miller is up to it! Fingers crossed!

I think There’s an advantage for rookie dmen this season without the crowds. Just can focus on your game. The moments won’t get bone rattling. That momentum from the crowd won’t be there. There’s a bit of an easier transition the first part of the season IMO coming for rookies.

I have been thinking this as well. He wasn't horrible late in the season. Just don't wanna see him as as a forward again.
