Oh my god. Giving up all of that for a 33 year old? What world are you in ?

I’d be leery about him putting up the numbers he has gotten. Career high on a really bad team where he’s getting a lot of minutes and opportunity.

Closer to 2 mins of PP time per game (25% of his points come from there). Does not kill penalties

He’s certainly more physical but I don’t like the premium he’ll get based on this years performance

Yeah that's fair, he'd probably look to cash in on a good season. Chicago would probably look for a premium as well given some of the silly prices being rumoured for depth forwards with less offense.

Just trying to look at some less conventional names that have good goal totals. Scoring always seems to be a hiccup in the postseason.

Im not sure why brad treliving was signed here....his trade history is pre bad, im worried he could make things worse.

Guy's made like 3 decent trades🤮
If he can pull off Parayko for a 1st and two 2nds like he did with Hamilton its a good trade but he has overpayed in so many deals, makes me sick that they thought this guy would be the best fit to turn shit around, no disrespect to him...but come on, this is the best roster we have had in how long? And there slackin

This would be lower on the Bucket list but Justin Brazeau is a guy I think the leafs will call about.

Big, Physical and mobile bottom 6 player that fits what Berube and Tre wants. Super cheap AAV as well so it wouldn't be hard to fit in

Only problem is he plays for a divisional rival team so idk how likely it is

Based off his trade history im going to say he makes these type of deals if we're lucky🤞

Capdump

For

Top defenseman under 30

5th
B level prospect
Capdump

For

Top forward under 30

5th
Capdump

For

Tanev(or bottom 6 player)

He gave up a 2nd, 3rd & 7th for Jarnkrok so im assuming if he's going after B.Schenn the deal will be around the same with retention though so switch the 7th for a 5th.

Really think teams and agents are just using the Leafs to get a better package for Schenn and Rantanen.

I would rather trade for Coyle and Carlo if they are available and risk the draft picks or prospects haunt the Leafs in the future than giving up the ask for Schenn and Rantanen.

I'm on board with the Minten for Laughton straight across swap. I value Cowan, Danford and the 2026 1st round pick higher than I do Minten. It's a good back up plan if they can't figure out how to make Schenn work.
I can see that being a good deal as Laughton still have another year after this year and his caphit is at 3mil.
Minten might be a bit steep but I think the fact that Laughton got another year plus Leafs can afford to resign him makes more sense.

Imagine NHL teams allow to rent out their players like Euro Football. Where Club A can lend out player X to Club B for 6months or a year or two years. Sellers will love this idea during the TDL.
Imagine Avs renting Sid with 50% retention just for the rest of this season for 1st rounder. And by draft day, Sid goes back to the Pens.

I would rather give the first than Minten.
Or that too.

Point I am trying to make is that whoever we get at TDL is not someone that is going to lead us to the Cup. Thus, get players with terms or able to resign with the Leafs instead of just pure rental for the playoffs.

Pass. Why give up a promising prospect in Minten for a non-difference maker in Laughton? Don't want Schenn either. People who say Cozens, he's not very good. One single season where he had 31 goals and 68 pts then he got his big contract and has been pretty crap since then. Don't want to spend good assets on a player with a contract like that.

For me this should be a stand pat year. Almost nothing the Leafs can trade for will be that much of a difference maker that would suddenly allow this team to win multiple playoff rounds. Only thing I'd consider trading for is another good defenseman to help out if the price isn't too high. Otherwise unless there's a crazy good deal to be had, the Leafs should just stay quiet at the trade deadline.

What about those trades makes his trade history pretty bad? Getting a lot of picks back for depth players and stocking up on picks to make a bigger move. Or moving guys who weren't gonna sign there and getting pretty good returns back.

I wouldn't be a fan of dealing Minten personally .. I guess it depends how you feel about his upside but he's a pure centre that is close to NHL ready and could fill a value role at cheap cost for awhile.

Is he untouchable? Absolutely not .. but I can't say I'm a fan of moving him for Laughton personally.

Thats a net loss of 13-picks🤮

And dont even get me started on his trades he has maybe 2 good moves, the rest are complete teee rash

And that Toffoli trade is still screwin them over as they give up the 1st round pick to montreal this year if its top-10🤣gave up Heineman, plus this year's 5th for a player that played one and a half seasons.

Wow he traded a first and two seconds for Hamilton that's his biggest move, besides that everything is mediocre or they took a loss

Lets assume that we acquire a RHD to play with Rielly on the second pairing.

Then this bumps OEL down to the third pairing.

Who is everyones choice between Benoit, Timmins or Myers to be the #6?

I could see a case for any of the three players, so interested to hear peoples opinions.

Taking a look at the raw data, is seems pretty clear to me that it's Timmins.

That being said, OEL and Tanev are pretty good together too, so if you wanted heavier team, you could do OEL/Tanev and McCabe Benoit... McCabe and Benoit were good last year... haven't been so good this year. Really, the choice for a partner for McCabe, or OEL, should probably be Timmins, as much as the heavy game, and grit of Benoit, is what people want.

To me, it would have to either be a very good D with term, or a better young C, as part of a package we send. That said, I don't think he has great upside, and I don't think he's really a full time Leaf until 26/27, but I think having a cost controlled C, is always a valuable asset you try and hold onto.

1-Reinhart was playing on buffalo 1st
montour buffalo top 3. When was the last time a bottom 6 player in Buffalo becoming something better somewhere else? The next step for Krebs in Buffalo is be healthy scratch

2-forsling is not a player florida move in hope to change their team, they claim him on waiver from Carolina.

3- Im not against take guest with player like that by exemple claiming him from waiver, giving a shot in the summer ( like bunting) or pretty low price...but you CAN'T trade for Krebs with hope he will be the answer. That's the difference here. For me Krebs is not different than Steeves, give him a chance and watch what he can bring.

4- Yeah i was wrong with Kakko

Sure thing... OH, by the way, fourth most minutes for forwards tonight, not quite in healthy scratch territory.
