The fact NYR imploded doesn't explain his stats sorry...

Right now Kreider is worst than Foligno in every part of the game except powerplay, winning 6,5M and doesn't bring any leadership contrairly to Foligno.

Matthews on LTIR doesn't mean leafs should make totally trash move... Kreider would only have negative impact in a leafs team, he would remove someone of pp1 ( the only area he can play anymore), make player unhappy and make leafs worst at 5v5...

Kreider is an interesting look isn't he?

He's on pace for 30 goals, and 3 assists. (based on 82 games played)

Who is he playing with that he has no assists?

JT Miller - 31 - 5*$8mm
Chris Kreider - 33 - 2*$6.5mm
Alex Tuch - 28 - 1*$4.75mm
Naz Kadri - 34 - 4*$7mm

I think Sabres should keep Tuch, but would like to see him on the Leafs.

We know the other 2 are available, but contract length grabs your attention.

Threw Kadri in for comparison only. I think Flames and Kadri are happy together.

You think Kreider comes with an exit cost? I think someone would take him. I'm not really after him but he's available and with 24 in 43 over the last three playoffs he might be our strongest scoring threat.

Seems Matty is back to day-to-day again anyways, so back to priorities I guess.

Someone takes him 100% for sure. If I'm Utah I go for him.

I'd be interested by Miller. Only thing that has me somewhat nervous would be the locker room, but it could be a good thing?

Agreed need more offence from the D. Parayko is not that type of dman but he can PK and has the booming shot from the point that the PP is desperate for. He is also big and plays a heavy game. Two things this GM covets.

We really should LTIR Auston and pick up Miller with even 1.5 mill retained. 6.5m won't be much in the future and not many teams can take on majority of the contract.

Idgaf if he's hard maybe he'd get this p***y core four to actually give a shit.

Tuch at 50% + Krebs is the deal I would be looking at. They are signed for this year and next. Solves the forward issues without blowing up your cap.

Domi Matthews Tuch
Patches Tavares Marner
Knies Krebs Nylander
McMann + spare parts

Krebs I can see being moved, he was on the trade block this past summer. They've actually come out and said they wouldn't trade Tuch, but who knows.

Yeah I think they've patched up the defensive side of things quite well but it's time to introduce a little more skating, puckhandling, transition game and offensive punch from the back end. Having the defensive foundation and stability will allow them to turn the Timmins spot into something else, maybe rearrange the pairings as required.

Even though offense isn't his strength, Parayko would add more offense to our backend. 30 points with no PP time on a mediocre offensive team is quite good.

Adding a Parayko isn't a problem in isolation, but would need to add some more offense to go along with it, because the mix would be overwhelmingly geared towards a park the bus mentality without enough guys to can move the puck well and generate offense. Parakyo in, Timmins out would be great, but does Benoit slide to 7, and you find a good puck mover to put into the mix?

I think the acquisition of Parakyo would improve the offence by itself. Clean breakouts and transition play is where offence is at, and that’s something our defence needs to get better at. Although we don’t have the pieces as currently constructed.

I think we are sleeping on how good Nelson is. Has been fantastic the past five years with the islanders. Quietly has scored a ton of goals. Would like to see a modest extension come with the deal though. As he is a UFA and will be expensive.

2 goal, 1assist at 5v5 even, The only 2 leafs who did worst are Reaves and Dewar... Hes a specialist team specialist and nothing more at 6,5M. It is really the type of player you want?

PS He played close of 60% of season with Zibanejad and Smith so his teammatr don't justify his production.

Someone takes him 100% for sure. If I'm Utah I go for him.

Don't be so sure, he had same 5v5 stats than minten playing 3X more and winning like 6,5M for an other 2 year...

Toronto needs more offence from the backend for sure, but as many are aware, it's most definitely not a major issue and the #1 priority. Wonder if Toronto finally goes after the big fish this year forward wise at the deadline. I can't see Toronto getting that centerman with term that they are looking for before then, unless they are trading for someone like Nelson and extending him before the summer.

No, I'd want Tuch.

Tuch would fill out the top 6 nicely. I don't think Buffalo would be open to trading him until next season when he's a UFA. He's also going to be in the 7m per year area as well.

I really don’t think he is available. Buffalo really don’t need more picks and prospects. They need more veterans.
He doesn’t get moved unless he asks to be traded imo. And even then it might not happen.

Obviously, a dream since watching him in Vegas.

My only concern is how would Leafs deploy another RW.

Nylander - Wellwood/Nagy - Tuch (best defence is great offence)

Murphy would be a great addition at the deadline.

McCabe - Tanev
Rielly - Murphy
OEL - Timmins

Then in the off-season, I would trade Rielly and Timmins and replace them with Chychrun and Borgen through free agency.

McCabe - Tanev
Chychrun - Murphy
Ekman Larsson - Borgen
Myers

I feel like that’s a Treliving type defence.
