2nd round 2025 for Ryan McLeod
1st round 2026 for Connor Murphy

Empty the coffers if the team keeps playing well. Ryan McLeod is a young controllable 3C who adds a ton of speed and Connor Murphy would be an excellent partner for Rielly. He also has another year after this one

Knies Matthews Marner
Pacioretty Tavares Nylander
McMann McLeod Domi
Lorentz Kampf Dewar
Robertson, Holmberg, Reaves

McCabe - Tanev
Rielly - Murphy
OEL - Timmins/Benoit

Stolarz/Woll

Tre should have beat that.

Not sure we have a Borgen to give up unfortunately. Maybe Benoit but not sure the Leafs want to mess with what's working for them on defense anyway.

With that said, Seattle grabbing a solid young player is a smart bet. I wonder if they unload a veteran or two upfront to go younger.

Rangers needed a RD to replace Trouba, who can play D, and stabilize them. So, they got a guy they needed, and we really don't have a player that fits that need. We also don't really need a winger, even if he'd be an upgrade on our third line guys.

Seattle should give him plenty of opportunity, where he'll likely be a good NHLer, but never come close to his draft position expectations.

Can they just buy him out to terminate his contract?
Retaining 50% for the rest of year, rather than buying him out and have him on the books for 2 years makes more sense. They would at least get a second round pick and a possibly another asset out of retaining and trading, I would expect. At least a 3rd rounder on the low end no?

Trade Deadline Freeze is fast approaching!

NYR might've received a serviceable return in terms of quantity for Kakko but that trade can turn on a dime against them in a hurry if Kakko can rediscover any of his potential with SEA and/or they can't extract much at the NHL level from Borgen or the 3rd round pick (through the draft or a trade).

The MON-NSH exchange of blueliners seems like a wash from a production standpoint (career) that allows NSH to get younger and MON to add a Quebec native with more NHL experience.

Robertson playing well again. i think it's pretty safe to assume it won't last. Does something around Robertson for Krebs work?

Wonder if Chicago would look to do another move similar to the McCabe trade. Murphy + Hall both retained? Murphy has another year on the contract as well.

Kakko for a #6D, a pick in the 70's and a pick in the 150's.

Don't tell me we couldn't have beaten that even with the Eastern Conference tax.
I don't think Rags are sending hockey players to Toronto right now and vice versa. We also don't really need a Kakko, so even those limited assets, from our limited pool, might be better kept for when we acquire priorities.
