He’s realistically the best trade chip to make an impactful change to the playoff roster and future roster.

There’s only 1 goalie in the net at any given moment. A good 3C is more impactful than a backup G in the playoffs.

The only reason I’d move Woll before Stolarz is because of his significant injury history (ironically Stolarz goes out as I type this).

This is exactly why you don't move Woll... you comfortable with Murray in net if Stolarz gets hurt in your scenario? I like AA and Hildeby, but zero NHL experience... you just can't do this at all.

Im not comfortable with Woll taking the majority of starts either. Has Woll ever proven he can handle a starters load?

Moreso than AA or Hildeby.

It's been said about the Leafs, that they have the best goaltending in the league so far this year... you just don't break that up.

Would be a terrible idea to move either Stolarz or Woll. I would consider moving Hildeby in the right move. Wouldn’t move AA either.

It's been said about the Leafs, that they have the best goaltending in the league so far this year... you just don't break that up.

They said that about Boston the last 2 years - the only team they beat in the playoffs was the Leafs and it wasn’t because they had 2 great goalies.

I see more upside in trading Woll for Sillinger than I see downside.

Again - how many goalies play at any given moment?

Pacioretty - Tavares - Nylander has been a really good line ever since put together.

How good do you think Woll is?

He’s never played more than 30 games in a season as a pro due to injuries.

He wasn’t a top 20 goalie by sv% in the AHL until his age 24 season (4th pro season) and he didn't even play enough games to have his stats qualify on the AHL website. Hildeby was a top 20 goalie in year 1 at age 22.

Woll finally broke into the NHL full time last year and finished 30th in sv%, 33rd in GSAx. He couldn't even beat out Samsonov for the playoff starter job despite Samsonov posting a .890 sv%.

On top of that - he wasn't healthy enough to play in game 7 and then turns around and isn't available for game 1 this season.

He is playing excellent this season and he very well could end up a top 5 goalie but that's hardly a certainty.

If you think it's "nuts" to suggest moving off him for a 21 year old C that's pacing for 55 points in his 4th full season then good for you.

Unfortunately with Utah moving off Geekie it looks like they're committed to Hayton/Cooley as 1/2C for the future.

McBain has been playing LW instead of C this year - he's the most likely of the young Utah C's to be available.
