Willy plays ‘offence’ :)
Grebs was playing on the left side for the Marlies.

If one watches his online highlights from the KHL, they'd have to guess which wing he played.

So many of his points were while skating LW, whether starting on RW or LW, attacks were frequently LW attacks.

And even the Pare setups this year looked to be from LW position near the net.

Has Pare done anything since that game?

Pare’s been hurt for awhile.

Most of the Preds top players have NMC's which is going to make rebuilding a problem for them.
O'Reilly should fire his agent for not including any restrictions.

I believe OP is referring to Mirtle's radio hit on JD Bunkis' show yesterday.

Mirtle simply mentioned that he doesn't see it as being impossible that the Leafs would look to re-acquire him if the Preds decided to do a tear-down. He said that Leafs management still loves the player. I don't think he was suggesting that anything was imminent or that it was ever discussed.

Personally, I wish ROR stayed with the Leafs and re-signed. I don't love the idea of spending assets now to re-acquire him when we already did that once. I guess for me it would be determined by the price which I imagine would be high.

I've got mixed feelings. Because on one hand he's be a good fit - and the Leafs need another guy who can fill in down the middle - on the other is that he clearly felt uncomfortable in the market with the pressure and media. He also ran his mouth a bit on his way out of town

I am willing to forgive at 50% retention.

Their team is pretty bad and loaded with long-term NMC contracts.

I think Forsberg should demand a trade to Toronto to play with WIlly. ;)

Yeah doesn't seem like the fit is there. The personal fit, the cap fit and the asset fit. He made his bed and I'm sure he's happy regardless of team performance. I would not pay a premium to acquire him again.

Imo he clearly signed the deal he did in Nashville because he wants to spend the end of his career in a warm weather USA market. If he spends the remainder of his time in the NHL missing the playoffs well that's the price he's going to have to pay

Morgan Frost is above average for speed and could in theory, be a longer term addition given his age.

Bjugstad is a big guy and has wheels, a right shot centre too, probably would work for Berube's identity of playing heavy hockey.

I like Frost, he's not great defensively (that's why Torts hates him) but we already have Matthews, Tavares and Kampf who can take draws in our zone, we need some offense from the bottom 6 and he can help provide it

The fact he's only 25 and not earning a fortune just makes me want him more, I don't mind trading assets but I'd prefer to do it with a long term solution in mind rather than a one year hole filler

The more I think about the possibility of Ryan O'Reilly returning, the more I think no, pass.

Sam Reinhart cost the Panthers Levi and a 1st, and became a core player on that team.

If we were to mortgage futures for help at the deadline, we better get a guy who can come in, and possibly become part of the core. What we need to do is target a player on a team that's slow to turn the corner on a rebuild, entering their mid 20s, maybe headed towards free agency.

I'll think of some names.
