They wont be moving Benoit. He is on a good salary and we have to go get those guys every TD.
Oddly enough I can see a line of
Pacioretty Tavares Jarnkrok being really effective and a great playoff line

Too slow. Tavares skates like my grandma.
Jarnkrok experiment needs to end. Another Dubas blunder. He doesn't bring anything in the playoffs
I dont think we want to move Minten. He is a Center. We are a winger factory so its more likely Robertson(Grebs in) but I dont see any need for a panic trade. We are winning which gives Tre the advantage to wait.

Neither are slow yes, but no speed either. There needs to be a nice combo.

It's completely possible, but you'd want to get value back. It's also hard to do when he's injured.
However, the writing kind of seems on the wall for Liljegren, unfortunately.
Do you like Holmberg nice player but alot of giveaways like last night .
To me he dosnt like to hit .
I think the Leafs will trade for Centerman with more grit and scoring.
Someone like a Dickinson or jack Mcbain
Maybe they will grab a 4th line center on a cheap contract.

I dont expect Philly to make the playoffs, so maybe Scott Laughton? Seems like a Treliving type of player
Yanni Gourde maybe too. Or Brandan Tanev but thats dependent on if Seattle misses the playoffs

I liked the lineup last night, with Matthews, Domi and Tavares as the top three C's. I think that could be effective as the season goes. I don't see a need for a 3C at this point.
It does seem like we have an excess of forwards though, so the question will be what to do... though depth is a good thing too.
I like Jarnkrok as a player, but he isn't a playoff performer at all. 19 career points in 82 games just isn't good enough. He isn't a physical guy who brings the battle, or much of anything else. We have enough players who can PK now... I think he's a guy we look at moving.
Holmberg is next on my list. It's nice that he provides some utility, but I don't think he really ever does anything of note in the NHL. I'm in no rush to send him packing, as depth is important, but if someone offered something of value, I'm ok with moving him.
Timmins. Again, I like some of the offense he provides, but he just can't stay healthy, and we have to move one of the bodies at some point. I think Lilly is a far superior D man, and should be kept. Lilly is having a rough start to the year though.
Kampf... I move him if we can replace him with a guy like McBain. I'm not sure it changes the offensive side too much, but it's a cheaper contract, and upgrades our physicality quite a bit. Reaves/Lorentz/McBain fourth line is a handful.

McBain is very fast and he will push back physically against teams, Kampf just takes it.
If a guy like Brock Nelson came available if NYI fell out, I would consider something like this...

Rather have Kampf than Holmberg. Ideally they should bring in a tougher right handed, fourth line center who can kill penalties, win faceoffs etc. Nic Dowd would be the ideal center but it would cost Tre.

I loathe Timmins, but dollar for dollar I’d rather him than Lilly at 3 million a year. I’d start Myers ahead of both of them……..
We will see how things unfold over the season and injuries if course, but if we go 34, 11, 91 down the middle and as long as our D and G are playing this well and this deep, we don’t really have any immediate major needs.
Would allow us to target an upgrade at the deadline in a totally different capacity than we usually do. Like instead of plugging multiple depth F and D spots, we could target an impact scoring forward

If we made a big move up front over the offseason (I'm talking Marner level big, even if it was never going to happen) then I could somewhat understand keeping Jarnkrok. Try to keep some continuity and stability in the lineup.
But with that not happening keeping Jarnkrok is just mind boggling. He's a fine, if vanilla player at a reasonable cap in the regular season. But playoff Jarnkrok is so bad it's hard to even put into words.
ALL TIME he has the 5th worst G/GP among forwards with a minimum of 90GP. Slightly ahead of Reaves and slightly behind the likes of Tie Domi and Chris Nilan.
He also has the 20th worst Pts/GP of ALL TIME with those same parameters.
But unlike the guys around him on those lists, who are strictly 4th liners, enforcers or PK specialists. Jarnkrok has been a middle 6 guy, who plays with skill players, and gets PP time.
It's one thing to produce like that when you never get offensive usage and have very defined 4th line role, but it's a whole new level of awful to produce like an enforcer while being used as an offensive player.

He's playing 2LW with Cooley and Guenther.
I would think Utah would offer a 3rd round pick or so for Liljegren, and that the big win for Toronto here is clearing the $3M cap space. Bank it until the deadline and do something more creative with that money.
He will likely win the cup like Stralman, somewhere else. The fate of many Leafs.

If it is Dallas, given that Nill watched the game last night, he becomes their best RD almost immediately.
Playing with Heiskanen or Harley could set him up to be quite successful.
Lets not jump the gun. If Im Nill, last night didnt sell me for a 3rd. People think Tre has to make trades. Actually he doesnt. As the season goes on some of these guys you want dumped gain value. For example, at TD, Liljegren can land you a 2nd rounder easy because he only has one year left ; Toronto doesnt need to trade anyone...yet. Advantage Tre. To be a contender we need pieces that arent so easy to acquire, like a Crosby.
