Steep price pick wise, but they keep their top prospects in Howard & Geekie. They traded nothing but complete unknowns for the chance of winning now & while getting upgrades to their team for this season and beyond.

I actually thought Eyssimont was pretty good against us. Tampa is good regardless of this deal. For the amount they paid I would have focused on something better.

That's a massive coup for Tampa.

It makes me want to trade Cowan + for Nelson. Tre must act. The market is clearly overheating... Too many buyers and not enough sellers.

You don't even need to trade prospects to get deals done, as Tampa just shown, you trade draft capital and keep your prospects. It's not a hard thing to do as shown.

It's just that Toronto thinks the unkowns of the 2nd round pick this year and the 2026 first round pick next season is going to be the next Lindstrom & Bobby Hull or whatever great players you wanna put there.

Okay now that I'm done being dramatic. I still wouldn't go after rentals outside of Tanev, because he would probably extend here. Risto + Laughton would be decent as it's either an upgrade at 3c or 2LW.

I'd seriously talk to Seattle about McCann because it just makes us better over the next 2 years as well. Adding McCann could mean we have 6 guys with the potential to score 30 goals.

People are overreacting to what another team did (which was address holes in their lineup), and fans are reacting because we didnt make a move before them??? This is all fair if the Leafs stand pat through the deadline, but we are far from that point.
