Speculation: IS THERE A f***ING PLAN BARRY OR ARE YOU JUST AN IDIOT??

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. We're losing and trying to cement a top 3 pick/get ahead of Chicago for a top 2 pick,
this trade doesn't seem like the straw that breaks the camel's back. We got rid of Schenn and the cost to do that was Novak and we get a 4th for our troubles. We got a little older and a little worse at forward but we're a bottom feeder and Novak isn't a star or even a potential star.

We're going scorched earth and doing a giant rebuild and getting rid of a lot of guys for picks. It's gonna suck for ticket holders but that's the plan.

We are dead last in goals per game and we trade one of the few players who actually scores every now and again. The only way this ends up making any sense is if it's a strangers on a train thing where the teams that want actulky want Bunting and Novak are teams Pit and us didn't want to trade with directly and they both get flipped somewhere else for a pick. The 4th for Schenn seems about right value wise.

Evangelista is next.

Getting assigned to that 3rd line is like being on death row.

And the right side of our defense is just as bad. Totally vaporized at this point.

There is a huge difference between "fun, young, bad team low in the standings" and "10 of our 12 forwards under contract for next year will be 30 or older on opening night. And we're low in the standings"

It's been clear since Trotz didn't follow through with the rebuild he has no plan or idea what he's doing.
Next season is an eternity from now at this point, this team is gonna like really different then, at the draft and this Friday.

So it took losing Novak on a down year to get rid of Schenn’s bad contract. Sounds like fixing one self induced problem and creating another.
as a season ticket holder, I do not approve of this message.

If you add up all the Pens/Preds trades this year it's really weird.

Tomasino, Novak, Schenn, Glass, 3rd, 6th for Bunting, 4th, 4th and Frasca.

A massive, bizarre trade. But yea, you would think that if you set out to build a market for Tomasino, Novak and Schenn you would be able to get more. Idk.

Let's not forget Matt "Retiring in Nashville" Duchene: 25 goals, 37 assists, 62 points in 61 games. That's excellent production for what we're paying him. It's too bad we're paying him to play on another team. I guess he didn't fit our team's "hard to play against" identity.

There's no way this isn't nothing but a huge failure, among many others. Our new identity is that we're a "Hard to Watch" team.

Wonder what Poile thinks?

There is a lot of hope in that statement but I think Barry's plan is to dump contracts and buy a bunch more guys with whatever cap he has and take another run at it thinking it will work this time. If you are going scorched earth, you maybe dump those guys but not for what he got in return.

The scary part is I think this means Brunette is back for another season which is freaking mind blowing.

Might as well buckle your seatbelts and put your helmets on because we are about to be a part of one of the worst trainwrecks in history.
