Boyle and a 4th for J Jokinen
Eminger and a 6th for M.A. Bergeron

There's your power play fix right there and an obvious offensive upgrade to the top 6

on the first, it will cost more than Boyle for Jokinen and NYR would want someone who is a bit more grit in the top 6. Rangers have enough finesse type players.

and on the 2ed... rather go for a dman who can play a little defense.. you might as well sign Andy Delmore if you want to score on the PP and not do much else..

Rangers trade Brian Boyle Bourque 3rd (FLA) to Jets for Mark Stuart???
Rangers trade Brian Boyle to Leafs for Mike Komisarek
Rangers trade Brian Boyle to Panthers for Shawn Matthias or Keaton Ellerby
Rangers trade Brian Boyle to Canucks for Andrew Alberts or Keith Ballard

lol.

With the exception of the Jets trade, the Rangers absolutely get fleeced.

You guys are frustrating. You treat real life like its some video game. You do realize Boyle sitting was a wake up call benching by Torts, not a he's out of favor here and now we're trading him, right? (That's rhetorical).

Teams don't win stanley cup with a lot of roster turnover. There is a such thing as chemistry and team identity.

At this point bernmeister, I'm not sure if you're kidding or are serious anymore. Trade the anchors of the Rangers defense? To the PENS?! Do you just throw darts at a board full of random players heads, toss them in a mega deal, and say "This will be the trade of the century!"?

Boyle does not fit this team anymore like he used to.... people said the same thing when Betts and Ortmeyer were here and then left.. how can the Rangers replace them..4th liners are easy to find.. Rangers can find a cheaper version in Boyle. oh wait they signed Jeff Halpern.. Boyle is not a 3rd liner at all..Rangers dont need 2 4th line centers. his salary can be used where it is needed, more depth on defense..

Not sure why everyone wants to trade Boyle. He is great as a 4th line center and penalty killer. The problem is when he's the 3rd line center and playing on the powerplay.

There is no place for him in the lineup if J.T. Miller is to stay. He could fetch probably a 4th or a 3rd round pick at best. He's the victim of youth all over the lineup.

He doesn't have a place on the 4th line?

I don't understand the Boyle hate. He's a great PKer and played like a warrior in last year's playoffs. Like I've said before, a lot of teams would love him on their 4th line.

Like 36 year old 4th line center Jeff Halpern who is only signed until the end of this year? Or 34 year old, utterly useless 4th line winger Arron Asham? Or recently acquired 27 year old 4th liner Daroll Powe? Powe's been good, but Boyle is also 27 and I would take him over any of them. The "no place for him in the lineup" BS is just that: BEE ESS. Tort's had him scratched to give him a kick in the pants. He's still one of our top PKers and a phenomenal fourth line center who can play higher in the lineup in the event of injuries. His 1.7M isn't handcuffing us anymore than Asham's 1M and I would MUCH rather dump Asham to someone for a 5th and play Boyle in his spot.

Get out of here with your logic.

Boyle not playing overly well in the first 9 games means he sucks and has no place on the team, got it?

 yea I am cool w keeping Boyle on board this yr and likely playing in place of halpern as 4th line c and pker . In the off season they should move the 1.7 price tag off the roster to sign the rfas

If rupo can be dealt I'm sure Boyle has waaaay more value plus jt n Kreider are kids so they need a vet backup

you guys keep reminding me why I shouldn't come here except to jab at some of your posts like I do with ostriches at a zoo.

No need to move Boyle even if Miller keeps up his good play. He can shift to the wing on the fourth line. Asham can sit or be dealt. Having a fourth line of:

Powe-Halpern-Boyle

Will help this team depth wise big time. Really would just have to add a Dman on 3rd pair.

Exactly my opinion. Boyle is a great fourth liner who can PK very well. If he was playing just there people here would love him. He gets all the hate because Torts overplays him and relies on him generating offense, and that's just not his strength.

All we need is a bottom pairing defenseman as Stralman has shown he is more than capable to be relied on. We have five good to great defenseman and only then there's a very big dropoff. Pick up a veteran who can fill that role at the deadline. If he has a big shot or can QB the PP that's even better.

If Miller and Kreider can contribute, I think our forward depth is more than enough to compete. Provided that Stepan and Hagelin can return to last year's form.

This season, with its intense schedule, it will be more important than ever to have good depth, and Miller and Kreider might not be ready to handle full time duty. As Torts said; We don't wanna rush Miller. Boyle won't be traded. Players that don't play like Callahan gets a lot of unjustified hatred around here.

They were pursuing Arnott for a reason!
Boyle is not effective enough as a 3C and he makes far too much to be our 4C.

He can't sustain an effective game. He regresses too much. We need more out of a 3C
Than just PK.

Agreed 100%.
I would also add that Nash, Richards and Callahan need to produce more, especially Nash!

Salary and cap hit don't matter this season, so that's no reason to trade Boyle. He's a great fourth liner and that's why we should keep him this season if we want to make a run.

1. Boyle the player don't deserve hate IMO atleast. I think he can be a very fine 3rd lineer.

But, I do not think we have a good 3rd line at all early this season, and the reason for that was not that Boyle the individual sucked, it was that the numerous combination of lines Boyle was on as units just didn't have what it took.

2. Lets see first for how long JT Miller can keep this up. I love him as a prospect, always have, but he is still 19.

Proposal:

From Ranger fans' doghouse:

Mike Rupp

To Ranger fans' doghouse:

Brian Boyle

you speak the truth. I am the first to defend Boyle but I was also the first to throw out proposals to send him out.

When I really think about its a dumb move to ship Boyle out because the team has alot of rookies in Kreider and Miller and a sophmore in Hagelin upfront. Boyle should stick this yr and the only way he doesnt is if they acquire a few Depth Forwards and then trade Boyle for a Dman

the most likely scenario this yr is keep Boyle and keep everyone on the team except for acquiring a rental Forward like a Antropov and a rental Dman like Leopold.

Only actual player I see moved is Eminger as the 8th Dman........maybe Gilroy but I think Torts likes his movibility. Many will say Bickel but they signed him for two yrs because he can fight and play and 4th line wing so he's not going anywhere

Next yr is a different story though. If Miller and Kreider are staples in the top 9 you cant have a 4th liner making 1.7 in the cap world. Sather did a great job moving Rupp at 1.5 for Powe at 1 million as it saves a few bucks to sign the RFA's next yr

So thinking Boyle is a goner next yr for sure. He does have value. Montreal would love to re-unite Prust and Boyle I bet. I would want a Dman back for Boyle

Upfront next yr -Richards, Gaborik, Nash, Stepan, Hagelin, Callahan, Miller, Kreider, Pyatt, Powe, Asham. Thats 11 already and the other spot they will have a vet signing like Halpern is this yr and a kid fighting for a spot like Fast and Lindberg and some current CT AHLers

I wouldn't be opposed to move Boyle. I realize that the team needs depth but if a team was willing to pay a decent price for him, say a 2nd + I would have to consider it.

What if Colorado offered:

Boyle for SOB + 2nd '13

Anyone?

Or Chicago:

Clendening/Shaw/McNeil + pick?
