i wouldnt mind him on NYR blueline... can actually play tough defensive hockey.. Rangers defense isnt exactly very physical

1)Holmgren is the biggest moron on the planet

2)The Rangers would be STUPID not to trade Gabs in this market.

Would be the right kind of addition to make. Good offensive upside and can play 18+ minutes per night. Said before that he and Staal would make a quality pairing.

McBain would make a lot of sense here.

I think he will cost too much.

He just makes the most sense for where this team is right now and what they need.

I wouldn't be surprised if Boyle is moved and he garners more than most of us believe he would. I am thinking 2nd + prospect.

Every player I think would help this team is not available, or playing for a team that's battling for a playoff spot. Again, that Ranger timing, always off.

Yeah. A lot of the moves I'd explore just aren't moves teams make at the trade deadline. Especially in a condensed season like this.

If Carolina really wants to move McBain for lefty defender who is more of a stay-at-home type, we're just not a fit. Earlier in the year when he was rumored to be available, there was talk that the Canes wanted a 3rd line center. That was a move we could have made. Boyle for McBain. Cap hit is a wash I believe. RHD who can move the puck has been a need for years now.

Now we've lost our 4th line center on waivers, and Boyle is caught in the bottom-six shuffle. Halpy getting shafted in Montreal too. Only getting 2-3x the ice he was getting with Torts.

Its true. The only players that would be worth a trade would be young guys who fill a need. It would most likely be a trade for next season.

or

We get a guy who is an aging rental for very little cost.
