Just to point out, Tampa Bay just acquired Bjorkstrand and Gourde for a 1st in 2026 and 2027, plus change. The Oilers also have their 1st in 2026 and 2027, not to mention a few high-end prospects. They could in theory put together a better package than what they gave up for Ekholm.the Oilers have 375k in cap space, no 1st or 2nd rounder in this years draft and most of the team has NMC....which available goalie do you want that will lead us to a Cup?
The LTIR thing may be an issue, but I think the Oilers actually do know that Kane is out till the playoffs or there is a move lined up. I think we're going to be surprised at what happens there (and Seravalli will have a rare moment where he's got egg on his face).
What they feel comfortable moving is a different story.
