He traded away:

Panarin, Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien for MARTY REASONER, Brian Campbell for a bottom 6 forward, traded away a young Philip Danaut for 4th liner Dale Weise, traded Ryan Hartman for a bust, traded Henri Jokiharju for Alex Nylander (the bust) , and Robin Lehner for Malcolm Subban. He also traded away the picks that would become Brock Nelson, Igor Shesterkin, and Jake Oettinger with nothing to show for it. Those are just the major blunders, never mind all the minor ones.

His GMing track record is beyond awful, you have no idea how badly he tanked the Blackhawks.

They won two Cups with his rosters. Who cares who drafted the core?

And yup, his track record in latter years was full of desperation moves to get the team back to being competitive. It clearly didn't work. His successor is still sewering that team. Few teams extend their windows that long, and they're the closest thing any modern team has had to a dynasty

This team can't even manage to get one. And JJ's moves this summer have cemented that. He's the one everyone should be mad at here. And hate on Bowman all you want, that fraud is the one that hired him

The entire draft for Jeannot comes to mind.

While this is true, they have figured out one very important thing that us of all teams should be paying attention to.

If you have elite talent at the top of your lineup giving you a real chance to win the cup, you should sell every single pick and prospect that you have. Those things don't mean shit.

Yup, Hagel was a very nice find for them. They won't hit all the time but considering that we missed on basically every acquisition since June...

I know everyone wants to blame JJ for our situation but one of our main problems has gone back years. Holland had five years to fix it and after Markstrom turned him down the best he could do was the husk of Jack Campbell.

We have been cap strapped for a long time and while JJ’s bets didn’t work they weren’t egregious ones especially since the two contracts at issue are short term.

Imagine what we could do if Campbell’s buyout money wasn’t on the books and Nurse wasn’t overpaid. Both Holland errors that are still affecting us.
