A reminder that the Hawks dynasty was built by Dale Tallon, who drafted all of Keith, Seabrook, Kane, Toews, Byfuglien, Bolland, Hjarmulsson, as well as trading for Sharp and Havlat, and signing Hossa. He was replaced in 2009 by Bowman.
Martin Havlat famously criticized the Hawks for demoting Tallon and promoting Bowman, saying “ McDonough (President) couldn't stand that Dale was so successful and getting the credit for building the Hawks from a last place team to making the Conference Finals in 3 short years. Remember, we were also the youngest team in the NHL last year," Havlat said.
"Every single player on that team is with Dale. I still talk to the guys all the time, hockey players know a phony when they see one."
Bowman’s ‘cups’ are completely the work of Tallon, and his legacy in Chicago is trading Panarin for Saad, as well as putting the team in cap hell and failing to retool while Kane and Toews were still in their 20s. What you’re seeing with him right now is what you will get.
