Tampa gets a top six winger and a 3rd line centre while Bowman eats popcorn

They made a trade yesterday for a player type they needed.

Sure they need to do more but do you need to wet your pants every time a trade is made and we’re not a part of it?

I'm happy for the sad face reaction. Still gives people reaction credit, but also allows me to properly express my emotion these days.

Here is the article with what was said on OilersNation (where Tony got his interpretation of the quote).

Thanks for providing the link, which really didn't take that much work I'm sure. So Frank is giving out his opinion that he THINKS the Oilers won't have Kane's LTIR money, that's quite different than they won't and are doing nothing at the deadline.

A reminder that the Hawks dynasty was built by Dale Tallon, who drafted all of Keith, Seabrook, Kane, Toews, Byfuglien, Bolland, Hjarmulsson, as well as trading for Sharp and Havlat, and signing Hossa. He was replaced in 2009 by Bowman.

Martin Havlat famously criticized the Hawks for demoting Tallon and promoting Bowman, saying “ McDonough (President) couldn't stand that Dale was so successful and getting the credit for building the Hawks from a last place team to making the Conference Finals in 3 short years. Remember, we were also the youngest team in the NHL last year," Havlat said.

"Every single player on that team is with Dale. I still talk to the guys all the time, hockey players know a phony when they see one."

Bowman’s ‘cups’ are completely the work of Tallon, and his legacy in Chicago is trading Panarin for Saad, as well as putting the team in cap hell and failing to retool while Kane and Toews were still in their 20s. What you’re seeing with him right now is what you will get.

According to LT we shouldn’t get any goalies. There’s no Ken Dryden or Dominic Hasek available for free, and we all know only a hall of fame goalie could be an improvement over what we have.

People forget Skinner was there in the finals, sure he blew 3 games but he was there and that means something apparently.

Edit: and oh Stu’s contract is a STEAL. A STEAL. Surely nobody making league min can compare to Stu at 2.75

Come on LT I’m starting to think you’re stupid and that makes me feel stupid for listening for years
His articles on The Athletic regarding this issue have been terrible too. Just handwaves away any negative statistic or concern and won't even address them.

The organization clearly holds sway over these cowards. How many of these idiot bots are actually voicing their opinion, or even know what their real opinion is anymore?

Are you talking about Lowetide?
Cause when I was listening he was saying we shouldn't trade Skinner but we should trade for a goalie cause a goalie can often be the solution to all your problems.

Pretty sure Tallon missed the RFA date which screwed the team, which is why he was let go / demoted. Bowman retooled twice after they had gone all in for 2010. They won two Cups with support players he brought in. Of course, the drafted elites did most of the work but the role players actually pitched in there

Which is essentially what he’s “trying” to do this season after JJ went “all in” on July 1. Those signings have, of course, not turned out as expected and their trade protection has basically put Bowman into a position of dollar in, dollar out (no, the paltry Kapanen and Klingberg salaries don’t mean much for that, and Bowman cleared cap with the Ceci for Emberson trade).

Bowman isn’t a great GM but this is pretty much all on JJ.
