nuge shot it right at dostals pad.

Team has no finish. You need aim for the empty part of the net score. Ducks were lifting shots.

Standard reply. Always an excuse for why other teams get saves and the Oilers don't.

Edmonton is the highest scoring team in the NHL over the last 3 years by a sizable margin. Of course they have finish.

and Bobrovsky had a .901 save% then came in and took them to a Cup final

McDavid's was a PP goal...did you even watch the game?

Because Bobrovsky is capable of elevating his game to elite levels, that's well established. He's back stopped teams to two of the biggest upsets in modern playoff history (beating Tampa Bay in Columbus and then beating Boston in their President's Trophy season in round 1 also). Skinner hasn't proven shit, his most common comparable is Dan Cloutier except Cloutier never got to play with McDavid.

Shame on the forwards and defence! Shame on them for openly saying the early goals against deflated their energy.

But gj pickard and skinner!

I'll never forgive this team for getting wet when Holland became available when they were talking to Zito.
This is the Oiler culture. They did the same with Boman. Jackson ran the offseason with no GM- dumbest thing he could have done. Now the team is older, slower, smaller, than the one that went to the finals last year. The Panthers, who won it, get better, with more moves happening. This team is 1st round fodder. I fully expect them to be upset against a "weaker" team.

I tuned into the Flames game last night and they were already up 3-0 on the same goalie the Oilers could barely score on a week ago. And man that goalie was bad.

The Oilers have a terrible habit of making goalies look better than they are.

McDavid and Draisatl are again the only drivers of offense. And when they don't produce, nobody else does. This team has depth issues... again.

not this year and thats all that matters.

You can hand wave away anything you want but the results speak for themselves. After Drai and McDavid no one else on this team scores.

all he did was backstop the Oilers to the biggest win in 18 years when the Oilers had like 12 shots all game

so they relied on Bobrovksy, who had a .901 save %

Yes he had a bad regular season, but Bobrovsky has proven himself to be one of the best goalies in the league overall in the last 7-8 years. He's won a Vezina trophy *twice*, saying shit like this is just stupid. Stuart Skinner has more in common with Dan Cloutier than Sergei Bobrovsky and he will never win a Vezina trophy, not even in his dreams.

There is deep rot up top. Until it's purged we will get the same recycling bin of washed GMs. Unfortunately it goes all the way to owner, and he's not going anywhere.

Yeah, if we manage to squeeze into the playoffs still (which is far from guaranteed at this point), we'll likely lose in the first round, and almost for certain will lose in the second round.

Entire team is worse this year, and the goaltending is SIGNIFICANTLY worse (which is saying something as it was pretty bad last playoffs as well). No chance at a long run this year without some major changes, which apparently aren't going to happen.

then why aren't they finishing this year?

They are. Team is 10th in goals for despite the coldest month they've had offensively in like 6 years. Things happen over long seasons.

The Oilers are actually incredibly lucky to have 2(they actually have 3) players who can drive offense like this.

Most teams in the NHL are a good top line and a bunch of fluff.

Getting Lyon would be a huge win. As a stat machine, he's doing well. That's all I care about. He doesn't have much playoff experience but I don't care too much about that.

oh so now you care about past accomplishments when it comes to Bob

I like Soderblom as a low risk gamble.

Soderblom, Reichel, and Connor Murphy for 2nd 2026, 3rd 2027, 5th 2027, Kapanen, Petrov, Rodrigue and Klingberg.

Pickard to the AHL to be org no. 3.

Bowman has ties to Soderblom, he signed him out of the SHL before he stepped down as GM in Chicago. Hopefully he could be available for the right price.

Chicago is dreaming if they think someone will take Mrazek. Nobody would touch him at 50%, or even on waivers for free.

so they relied on Bobrovksy, who had a .901 save %
Bobrovsky had a 0.917s% 5v5 and a 0.11 GSAA/60
Skinner has a 0.903s% 5v5 and a -0.23 GSAA/60

They went into the playoffs with a good goalie who had struggles with PK and stuff who even with his struggles was above average. They also had Lyon who was performing very well in his limited starts as a back up.

Skinner is an average goalie who is playing awful and his backup is a below average starter who is playing bad.

How is that situation even closely related?
