Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are not good enough and need to be replaced, regardless of the cost.
Not according to Stauffer, the team's mouthpiece. Expect to go in with this lineup and maybe another old, slow, coke machine installed on the backend. When the current sadsacks can't even muster the effort to show up most games. Imagine thinking 'this is the year!' and 'we're going all in' after watching them over the last stretch of 8 games. With the way they are playing... they might barely just gasp into the post-season at best.

Guess they are close to a playoff spot. And there is a story where Vejmelka said he wants to stay with Utah. Still, we have the amazing Stan Bowman that can shake him loose.

There's literally nothing on the planet stopping them from going out there and blowing teams away early in the game. Sadly this team's offense flows through 2 individuals as the rest of the forward corps just stands there and does nothing.
But let's be real, they know their window is officially closed. It's not happening. And the Oilers have nobody to blame but themselves.
In general the fanbase underestimated how much a Finals run takes out of a team I think.
Yes, yes, some smarty pants is now going to rush in and say "yeah b ... bu ... but Florida, Tampa, and Pittsburgh did it!".
All three of those teams were solidly built at forward, D, AND goaltending.
Teams that are trying to "cheat" with a roster that's more poorly built and trying to excuse it as just "oh Connor and Leon just need to play a little harder to make up for that" and probably getting a rude awakening eventually.
Jeff Jackson had an awful summer, that continues to weigh on the team also.
Team is also I think officially checked out of the whole "sure the goalie let in a bad goal, but just play hard and get it back!" thing is out the window. Team checks out when the goalie lets in a bad goal because they don't trust these goalies any longer.
No goalie acquiring = Im f***ing done with this season lol.

For all those still hoping for trades that bring us in top players at multiple positions, please take note that today we traded 4 assets for an injured, bottom 6 UFA winger. I can’t even imagine the asking price for a really good player with term. Other teams can smell our desperation.
