Don't think so. He got slapped in the face and humilated by the Avs by being traded like that. He's not going back there, same thing with Ryan Smyth when people thought he'd sign back here in summer 2007 after going to the Islanders ... when a team disrespects you like that in contract negotiations it usually takes a few years at best to get over it.

His numbers are pretty much identical to Skinner’s this year, and he’s always been massively overrated IMO. He stinks on eye test too.

If you want to make a $7+ commitment to that over 7 years then you do you, but I think it’s crazy and massively risky.

Why would that be bad? We need a #4D and a top six forward. Yes, a goalie too, but it would at least show Bowman and Jackson are not throwing this season away entirely.

He’s just tired from carrying that franchise on his back the last few years. Put him on a good defensive team like ours and he’ll return to form.
